Great Wine
The directions are clear and easy to follow and these kits produce quality wine for a fraction of the cost at the store. A good bit of the wine I make gets given to my friends and they all love this one. Highly recommend

2nd review California Cabernet Sauvignon
Added 2 cups sugar – SG 1.112Pitched yeast 01/18/19added both oak powder packetsBottled 02/18/18 – tasted horrible (as expected)Final AVB 15.75% (a bit too high)2 weeks later not exactly bad but definitely not good.03/25/19 – Now we’re coming up on a good table wine.I think at 3 months this stuff would stand up to a $20.00 a bottle grocery store wine. And yes I recommend.I’ll be ordering another one of these kits in a few days.Don’t believe the “4 week thing” because it’s basically undrinkable at the 4 week finish time.2nd review California Cabernet SauvignonOk here it is. I bottled one of these kits in Feb. Taste not so good. In March, a lot better but no blue ribbons. In April much better. Nuther bottle in April 11th that I decanted for one hour, fanfreakingtastic!!!I’ve got a second Wild Grapes Cabernet Sauvignon in the primary and as soon as I rack it to a glass carboy, I’ll start another.Bottom line. This stuff is great young, after about two months but you gotta decant it for at least 1 hour.

Great product.
Fantastic flavor and easy home making kit for beginners. I used these to get started and now I’m make my own wine after understanding the process.

Very Tasty
Followed directions exactly. Took about two weeks to fully ferment. Racked to secondary for a week and added finings. Perfectly clear wine. Will bottle after about 6 weeks total time. This is the best cabernet wine kit I have made and will make again. OG was on target and final gravity was on target. The oak addition sets this kit apart from others I have made. This compares ok to the good box wine or inexpensive bottle cabs I usually drink. I would not be afraid to serve it to my friends.

With a few minor tweaks, it’s very solid.
This wine ended up surprising me. Initially, once ready for bottling, the nose was off - almost chemical-like. The taste was quite pleasant, however. After spending a few weeks in the bottle, the nose cleared up and I was left with a very nice product. Light on the nose and palate. More translucent than traditional cabs.I did note that after primary fermentation, the oak pieces that were provided were pushed up the side of the vessel during the fermentation process. This limited the exposure of oak in the wine. So, while bottling, I filler only 12 bottles and put the remaining quantity back into a glass carboy and put a medium toasted oak stave in with the wine, letting it rest for another 4 weeks. I bottled this volume this past weekend and was very pleased with the result. I will do this for all future batches. In the end, this is a do again with adding the stave once “ready for bottling”. Again - it was very nice without it once given enough time, which was a couple more weeks.I will purchase this again. Hope this helps.

Good product at a very good price.
Easy to follow directions. Makes a very good dry, red wine.

Wait let it age and implement air in racking.
I made this wine in 2018 and I added medium and dark oak chips to give it that oak flavor. I had that sulphur smell that happens with every wine son one of my uncles told me to rack the wine but use a large funnel with cheese cloth so you have to incorporate in into the wine so it slowly removes that smell so I tasted it after fermentation and then 6 months and still has that smell but it was slowly getting less smell after a yr wine still didnt have that oak smell in the wine it a small strong sulphur smell and tasted ok but not finished. So I waited 2 yrs and it was starting to taste like a true cab but I waited until 3 yrs and air racked it 2 more times and I can tell you it tastes like 60 dollar bottle of wine best wine i ever made glad i waited.

Absolutely ZERO customer service, no fermentation. ZERO STARS
This product did not ferment. I tried adding yeast, yeast energizer, yeast nutrient and so on over time. All to no avail. I tried to contact the manufacturer, but their site wont 'send' my email. Utterly frustrating experience, mostly because they cannot be contacted. I really just wanted to ask if my problem was isolated, or if there was an issue with the product. Not having ANY customer service is a very bad indicator, in my mind. Here is the email I tried to send via their 'contact' info......HiI bought a premium Cab Sav wine kit for my adult daughter, and am most disappointed that it did not fermment correctly. (Meaning...at all) She said she meticulously followed the instructions, and we went over each step carefully. Ive made a bit myself, so have an undrstanding of the process, and required sanitation and attention to detail. We tried adding yeast nutrient, yeast, and yeast energizer after realizing it wasnt happening, , all to no avail. Im writing in hopes that we were not alone, and there was an issue with a batch of grapes, or batch of product. Please let us know.ThanksDave SnowI hit the SUBMIT icon many many times, to no avail. I tried opening up another page and redoing it....still no result. It really torques me that I cannot find any way to contact them. I would like to be fair to their product, but have no idea where to go from here.Doggone it.
