For me brought me back to the beauty of NM. A bit wordy yet engrossing. Good character development

This book builds up until you are captivated and want to read to the end. It has a very important message about caring for our Earth and is done in way to remind us of how the Indians viewed Mother Earth.

excellent well written entertaining book.good read. looks like real life autobiography.takes on trip diff places with diff. experiences.give it 5 stars.

There are some places where the spirit world shines through the mundane, and one of those places is Northern New Mexico. As I read this book I felt Sandi's deep connection to the landscape and light of this beautiful countryside. She spins a tale that can be read on different levels - on the surface, it is the story of a woman breaking out of her comfort zone to explore parts of herself that could not flourish where she lived. On another level, it is the story of the melding of two spiritual realms, underscoring that, despite different cultural practices, we are much more alike than we are different. It is also a love story, tackling the challenge of moving away from a relationship that is comfortable but not life sustaining.I look forward to her next book!

“Ancient Rights” takes the reader into the thought processes of a woman seeking a foundational underpinning to guide her through her relationships with the men in her life, with her desire to express herself creatively in art, and with her goal to support herself financially through her artistic creations. The descriptions of the U.S. Southwestern landscape are rendered vividly. Ghosts, apparitions, and dreams are conveyed as a way the author/protagonist connects to her environment and her journey. Narratively, the story is suspenseful as the reader cannot help but hope that, by the end of a journey the protagonist takes to the Southwest, the author/protagonist finds whom and what she seeks. Without giving the ending away, this reader felt gratified for the sake of the protagonist that the book’s main character made the choice at the end that she did.From an avid reader

While reading Ancient rights, I was taken back to my home state of New Mexico, and my birth city, Santa Fe:Taking it for granted as I grew up, but appreciating all of it after I moved away, and moved back many times.I feel a connection with Sandi, especially; meeting her in my new home, Naples, Florida.
