My electrician installed this and it is so discreet for everyday. I love having it to help me clean or change bulbs on my chandelier in the 2 story entry.

A little more work to install but will depend upon site. At my house I needed to improve attic lighting, walkways, structure to support the lift, and wiring connections.In the end it works great and I am happy we chose and installed this lift.

Bought this unit to replace a broken competitor's lift. Most of the prior reviews are accurate except for the few that complain about clearance at the ceiling. The installation adjustment is clearly shown in the instructions and was the least of the install concerns. I do recommend getting the optional digital switch. Otherwise you will grow old waiting for full travel up or down.

I rate this a moderate difficulty install, but it is a great product. It requires to electric feed, one for the light fixture and one for the lift motor. It raises and lowers very slow. I did not pay the extra bucks for the programmable switch that remembers the up and down stop positions. The nice thing about this is you do not require light fixtures wire to run the drop length. Contact for the light only occurs when light is in full up position and the light plate makes contact with the head plate on the ceiling.The only trouble I had was the unit's 15amp 250 volt fuse was blown. The lift worked fine but the light fixture would not turn on. This was the last item on the trouble shooting list. Once I replaced the fuse it worked great.The other challenge is placing the control key switch some place where you can watch the light operation. I place mine on the second story land over looking the entry way light I installed the lift on.It is now a snap to clean the light and replace the bulbs.

If you have a tall ceiling and a large chandelier, this item is a must. It works perfectly. The instructions are on point and easy to understand. Customer service rivals that of days gone by when customer service meant something (only reason I needed to contact them was my chandelier had a larger fitting than what was supplied. They sent the needed item fed ex free of charge). I can not say enough good things about this product and the company who sells it. Thank you.

A wonderful addition to your home!Installation can be tricky. Instructions can make you believe it’s easy. Proper anchoring of the unit is essential for safety sake. Everybody’s attic structure is different so this isn’t a one size fits all installation. Also, if the trim canopy of your chandler is not very deep you may need to find a deeper canopy or shorten the threaded rod that is included with your chandelier. DO NOT modify ANY of the Aladdin components to “make it fit”, you will be putting yourself at a safety risk in doing so. Most people would be better off hiring a pro to do the installation of this unit.Agree with the other comments on the keyswitch. This is a high torque very slow RPM motor so holding the key for over a minute (depending upon the distance) is kind of a pain. But we are talking about a luxury item here... so I kind of feel silly with that complaint.

So I have a 25ft ceiling, I needed a chandelier lift because there is no way I was going to have anyone go up on a ladder to clean. Well in all honesty, I bought this so that my cleaning lady wouldn't have to place herself in danger and for liability purposes when cleaning it. Its a great little lift - super slow but it does the work. Make sure to get the automatic pull up key switch so you don't have to stay there and turn the key the entire time.
