Sewing Edge Vinyl Stops
I recently started using the Purple Sewing Edge Vinyl Strip to ensure accurate 1/4 inch seams while sewing quilt tops. The vinyl strip has been incredibly helpful in achieving precise 1/4 inch seams. It provides a clear and consistent guide, ensuring that my seams are accurate every time. This has improved the overall quality of my quilt tops.Using the strip has also made my sewing process quicker. With the clear guide in place, I can sew with confidence and speed, reducing the time it takes to complete each project. The strip eliminates the need for constant measuring and adjustments, streamlining the sewing process. The vinyl strip is easy to apply and remove, making it convenient to use with different sewing projects. Its adhesive is strong enough to stay in place but gentle enough to remove without leaving any residue on my sewing machine or fabric

Consistent 1/4 inch seams
Love it! Has made quarter inch seams a breeze when quilting. Very simple to use. Great results.

I love them, they have a nicer quality than others ...
Wouldn't be without these!!!! I love them, they have a nicer quality than others I've used and they stick well but can be removed and put back down without any issues. They keep my sewing in line better and I can move them often as to keep my sewing allowances. As a quilter most projects are 1/4" but in other sewing the allowance may be 1/3" or 5/8" and I can move the guide without issue and it resticks nicely and doens't move. There's a bit of a profile too that helps keep your sewing in line better. I used to use a piece of painters tape but found I was often still losing my line. This way with the little profile, it keeps your sewing in line better. I use a ruler when placing it on the bed of the machine as most have a little curve to them and are not exactly flat. It helps to be sure your sewing edge is perfectly aligned as they are bendable and will mold to the surface on which you place them. I can't tell you how many other people's machines I've fitted one of these to so they keep their seam allowances and their sewing has improved immensely! I keep several pkgs at all times for classes. They last a long time and are cleanable on the top surface so when you wipe your machine down when cleaning it they stay intact. No issues with getting tacky or torn.

I haven't used this yet but people in my quilting group rave about how great this is to make your seams straighter and that it doesn't leave any sticky residue.

It works
I have tried a variety of different tools to help maintain a perfect 1/4" seam this has worked the best for me. My machine is in a table and it is recessed so I have a flat work surface. there is a plexiglass filler that fits in around the machine to give a perfect surface. The problem with most guides for me is that they sit across the needle plate and onto the plexi. Every time I need to change the bobbin I have to take the plexi off to get to it which means I have to remove the guide. With this I use two strips one on the needle plate and one on the plexi so I can lift it off no problem. These strips can be re-positioned easily and don't leave any sticky residue. They are thick enough that the fabric rides along it. They do seem to collect a little lint and I don't think they will hold up forever but they are cheap enough and you get multiples in a pack so I will just replace them when they get tatty.

Very useful!
These are really great for keeping a seam allowance accurate. Strips can be reused multiple times.

Ok
I have a drop-in bobbin so my bobbin cover prevents me from getting these close enough to the foot to be as helpful as I’d like. And these are difficult to place with precision for a 1/4” seam allowance, for example, which makes the issue of precision even more daunting because I would have to keep removing and putting this down again with each bobbin change. Instead, I used one on my cutting table to place one end of a strip of fabric against it while I measured and cut a 45 degree cut. It works fine for that. But for my sewing needs and my bobbin cover being in the way I doubt I use these much. The adhesive is pretty strong, which is good in one way but makes it harder to get it placed perfectly straight, it can twist a little since it is also flexible.

Nice guide.
This has helped me sew much straighter and stays in place really well. It was easy to cut so it didn’t hang off the edge of the sewing machine. Since I have been quilting only, I don’t have much reason to move it to say whether it’s reusable.
