3 Legged ThingQR4 Quick Release Plate 38 x 38 mm (QR4-EQ)

I bought a 3 Legged Thing tripod, which I like very much, and then bought an extra quick release plate. Unfortunately, the new plate is really loose. I compared it to the original plate, and saw that there are size differences in the cutouts that hold the plate to the ball head. Yes, I could adjust the clamp to hold it, but the point is to not have to do that every time I want to change cameras/lenses. Really terrible quality control.

The anodized finish looks nice, but this plate functions no better that similar plates that cost much less. The trick company logo on the top of it seems pointless. It just reduces the surface area of the friction material and once attached to your camera you can't see it anyway. What is the point?The plates also came rather over-packaged and were attached to a card with plastic shrink wrap. Apparently they are packaged for hanging on a store display. For an online order that just adds waste.

3LT has become my favorite choice for tripods. I've used/own Manfrotto, Sirui, Benro, and even Oben. I like these brands but my go-to tripod in almost all cases is my 3LT.I like their plates as the rubber is good - it grips well. I purchased an Oben ball head and the rubber on the plate was not rubbery therefore within minutes the camera would turn and start to come undone/loose to the plate.

Quickplate looks and feels great, quality is good! I had to take the extra bolts on the bottom off (for the peak design functionality) to get it to work with my tripod.

These are very well machined and can be used with Peak Designs straps. They are ARCA Swiss tripod mount compatible and have the very important safety stud that keeps a camera from falling off if the mount gets a little loose.

It would be REALLY HELPFUL if these "Arca Swiss" things would actually fit. Maybe they should list SPECIFICALLY which fits what so a customer would know how to shop accordingly.

Durable, awesome color!If you're getting it with the intent of using it with Peak Design anchors, while this is technically compatible, you're gonna have a tough time getting them through the holes in this plate.

These are excellent quality and obviously fit my Three Legged Thing AirHed perfectly.But I bought them as a slightly cheaper alternative to the Peak Design plate as they claimed to be Pro-Capture compatible.Sadly they’re not totally compatible: there are two Allen-key machine screws on the base which help with locating the plate on the Three Legged Thing AirHed. But they totally prevent the plate from being used on the Peak Design Pro-Capture clip unless they are removed. No suitably-sized Allen key is provided for that.Also, unlike the Peak Design plate, the 3LT version can only engage with the PD Pro-Cap in a single axis only, unlike the PD item which engages in both the X or Y axis. So with the 3LT version you need to make sure that you attach the plate to your lens or camera the correct way around, unlike with the PD version.The machine screws act as safety pins on the 3LT AirHed so give a bit more security.So if you’re not going to buy a Peak Design Pro-Capture, then these 3LT plates are a superior design. But if you are going to use the Pro-Cap then these are inferior.I’ve knocked one star off as the product is not fully Pro-Capture compatible without modification and fails to make that clear and fails to include the necessary Allen key to remove the screws.Since writing the above review I’ve discovered another minor incompatibility: this plate is about a hair’s breadth narrower in all directions than the PD plate. What that means is if I adjust my AirHead Switch (the one with the lever) to grip my PD plates then it fails to grip these 3LT plates at all. And as I’ve had to remove the safety screws from the bottom of the 3LT for PD Pro Cap compatibility that’s a real problem. If I adjust the AirHed to grip the 3LT plate then the locking lever becomes almost impossibly tight to operate when I use a PD plate. Also the 3LT plate is a much sloppier fit in the PD Capture clip (and is non-adjustable).So you need to choose to standardise with just one clip system: if you’re not going to use PD Capture plates, and only use 3LTs AirHeds then these 3LT QR4 plates complete with their safety screws, may be the best choice for you. But if you’re going to use the PD Capture or intend to use any other ARCA-Swiss compatible heads, then stick to the PD plates.One other point against these plates for me is that the PD version has a mounting screw fitted into a slot, so that I can adjust the position of my plate. This 3LT version does not; and on my OM-D E-M1 mk ii the tripod hole is quite far to the rear of the camera baseplate. That means a lot of the surface contact area of this 3LT plate is not used, but with the PD plate I can slide it forwards on the adjustment slot before final tightening so that the entire surface area is against my camera baseplate.

This is perfect! I now have 3 3 legged tripod attachments and all of them are superb.It might seem like a lot of money but this should last for ever. Attaching with an Allen key ensures it never comes loose.

One came with the tripod but easier to add them permanently to devices you would use on it.Well made and feel very secure.

Es muy bonita y llamativa, la he montado en una A7 y queda de fábula, además permite los anclajes PeakDesign, y eso es un plus para mi, es una excelente zapata, pequeña, ligera y bien hecha. La volvería a comprar, su única pega el precio es cara para lo que es, no hay que olvidar que es un trozo de metal, bien hecho, pero un trozo de metal, si bien no me arrepiento en absoluto de su compra.
