Awesome
I use this to mainly bring my Bass Sound up an octave and it works very well! I can actually get a couple of Tool Sounds and songs out of it! Just a great pedal!

Toneprint didn't work for first unit but replacement was sent and new unit works / sounds great
Amazon sent a replacement unit and it works great. I'm changing my review to 5 stars... both for the customer service I received and for the unit itself. For what it is, it does the job and sounds good. My original review is below. I just got this pedal and it will not recognize a Toneprint beam from my iPhone 5c. I've tried multiple guitars and multiple pickups. The Subnup is the only thing in the signal chain. I've tried using both the phone's speakers and headphones (both earbuds and standard headphones). I've tried multiple Toneprints. Nothing is working. I can't try using USB because apparently TC Electronic’s Toneprint Editor is not supported on my system (Mac OS 10.10.5). I'm at my wits end and ready to return this thing.

Simpler options may be cleaner, but not as flexible...
So I've purchased three budget mini octave pedals thus far - two have done the job, one has been an absolute disgrace, but of the two that worked (This pedal and the Donner Harmonic Square), only the Donner has been completely idiot-proof and produce near perfect results, if a bit delayed. This one, however, has a bit of a rabbit hole to go down... I'm a bassist, let's start there. So I'm not using this to go an octave lower, but an octave HIGHER, while giving me the ability to keep my bass sound and add a guitar line over the top of what I'm playing to fill in for the rhythm guitarist my band doesn't have. The Donner tracks that and gives a clean representation of an octave above with no fuss, and just a slight delay - the Sub n' Up is faster, with a few quirks. By default the sound is pretty heavily effected; there appears to be some weird EQ going on and the pedal "barks", as best I can describe it - the sound that goes in when you're pitching an octave up has to be processed QUICKLY, resulting in a pretty extreme envelope filter as the frequencies get sorted out. At least that's what I THINK is happening. Regardless it's not perfect to begin with so I dove into the toneprint software, available for free for Mac or PC on TC's website, and it's pretty insane what you can get into with this pedal. After two hours or so I'd turned the simple up/down/dry octave volume pedal into an overdrive, cabinet simulator, and boost, all at once. And that's without even getting into the modulation options like flanger or chorus. Right now I have the pedal setup using no sub octave, instead using that knob as a drive knob, and the upper octave has some particular EQ settings to make the sound play nice with my bass. These simple fixes have made it possible for me to play bass and rhythm guitar simultaneously, eliminating about five other pedals from my board in the process. The possibilities are endless - but you'll have to work for them. If you're looking for an inexpensive, accurate, simple pitch pedal - get the Donner Harmonic Square. But if you want to be able to take a simple effect and mangle it to do the completely outlandish and undeniably YOU, this is the one.

Affordable, small and great software for unique settiings
A great octave pedal. Easy to use and with the tone print technology, you can load some really cool presets or tweak them to your own needs. Note: Like most pedals, there is a slight learning curve to getting the right settings. I was frustrated at first as I couldn't get exactly what I was hearing in my head. But the more I used it, and really got familiar with the tone print editor. I got the ideal setting that made this a great addition to my pedal board.

Pretty nice pedal
It’s just a simple 3 knob octave up and down pedal. Adds an extra layer to your lines. I find it to be more on the subtle and quiet side but it’s still nice and saves a lot of pedalboard space

Be careful with this one........................
Out of the box, it works perfectly and sounds great. It is an octaver pedal and nothing more. Do not, I repeat do not usb into the thing with their SW and try to get more out of it. It ruins the pedal. You will never get the default sound back. There is no support and no fix.

Produces a Loud Humming Sound
I purchased this product to make my electric guitar sound more like a bass guitar, and the product does do that. However, I was rather surprised that no power supply was provided with the product. Nor was there an instruction manual included. This product can run on batteries, but I don’t have the tool necessary to open the box to insert a battery. I can’t even tell what kind of tool is required, but it definitely is not a standard or Phillips screwdriver. Also there was a very loud hum when using the product when I used a compatible power supply. Perhaps if I purchased their $25 power supply, the hum would go away. However I’ve decided to return this product. I was also surprised that the input and output jacks are not even labeled on the product. Really a lazy design effort.

Great value for money!
Excellent piece of kit, that works well with both guitar and bass guitar too. Very simple controls, not a ton of control over the tone, but what it does do it does with ease and fidelity. Highly recommended as a budget addition to a pedal board!

An excellent addition to your sound
This pedal has added a new dynamic to my acoustic sound. It has a presence that fills in that little missing bit. I have it turned to a level that the bass is in nice sync with the acoustic guitar and gives a pleasing blend of sound. It can produce a 12 string type of harmonic but I personally don't use it for that. Works well and seems very well made.
