Carbohydrates from Erythritol are not absorbed by the body so do not add calories. Erythritol is a natural sweetener, produced by a fermentation process. Erythritol is also found in fruits like grapes and pears.

Is this the same as the container of spoonable truvia?

I don't think so. It's spoonable, but the monk fruit is not as sweet as regular Truvia, and this has a more bitter taste. I won't be purchasing the monk fruit variety again.

Can this be used to make frozen yogurt and ice cream in place of sugar?

Good sweetener but heavy like sugar in weight and volume.

I use plant-based sweeteners in order to keep my blood sugar in check.This particular sweetener is exactly like sugar; in weight and volume, it's HEAVY.I prefer the 'fluffy, powdery" sweeteners.For the people up north, I'll use SNOW as a comparison; this particular sweetener is like "heavy snow" that you make snowmen out of.I prefer the "fluffy, powdery" snow that you use for skiing.

Taste not sweet

Bought this as I always do in March 26. The taste is awful..not sweet at all.in fact zero sweet taste....dont know what went wrong as I have been buying it for years

High price but great taste. You use it in cooking one on one with sugar. No artificial or tangy flavors.

I use this a lot for sugar-free desserts

I have bought this SEVERAL times as it is not available in even major grocers at this price. I make lots of sugar free baked products and anything requiring more than 3/4 c seems to change the texture of your baked products, but not fruit or pie fillings.
