This is my first immersion blender. So I can’t tell you how it compares, but it’s working great for me. I’ve used it several times now to make soup, smoothies, and enchilada sauce.Like other reviewers mentioned, it gets pretty warm to the touch by the time everything is puréed, but it’s never too hot to use. It’s quieter than expected; my daughter hates the sound of my Magic blender but doesn’t mind this noise level at all.The power cord is short, but it’s an actually perfect. It’s just long enough to reach my pot or pan and move around but not so long you have to worry about it getting into the food or taking up storage space. I pop the blender attachment into the dishwasher after use and then store the 2 separate pieces in a small kitchen drawer.My tips/thoughts for other first-time users:It takes more time and a little more elbow grease than I was expecting (possibly just user error). Trust the process, keep blending and moving, and it eventually gets the job done. Also, be careful to not blend too close to the surface of your food, it’s easy to splatter yourself!! 😅

I was in a hurry to buy one of these as we had an immediate dental problem in the family that required mush. . . plus Thanksgiving gravy was coming. This was 500 watt for $20 and I couldn't resist. I have had the big name $30 250 watt job with stainless steel removable stem and eventually sleeve bearings failed and it wouldn't spin fast enough anymore, so I should know better than to go for just more power. I can feel that the 500 watt motor is heavier than a 250 watt model. It also has a really light weight stem and rod that the blade is mounted on and actually seems to be engineered to handle the power by being lightweight. The blade is somewhat small but it spins faster with more umpf. Smaller, lighter means less resistance, but it does the job. It's new. It works good. Only time will tell how it lasts. Don't give it any impossible tasks. All the brands have cheap sleeve bearings that are designed to fail. Looking heavier and sturdier doesn't necessarily guarantee longer lastingness. I can feel that the 500 watt motor is heavier than a 250 watt model. The other plus on this model is how the removable blade stem twists on and off. Genius. Works good. That part won't break too easy, at least.

I use it for mixing casein protein powder and it seems to have an enormous amount of power. It kind of sucks it to the bottom of the cup when I'm mixing. The blade part detaches easily. It's easy to clean and has some weight to it. Feels of great quality for the price and is plenty deep enough for my drink. I would have liked to see a whisk or froth attachment but they weren't available at this price point so I have no valid complaints.

Purchased to try making salad dressing with smashed avocados. Worked like a charm and is very powerful. Blended nicely in a 3 cup glass measuring cup. Easy to clean with sink water. Next we will be using it for soup with blended tofu to make it creamy. Great low price and well made

everything about this is perfect. I particularly like that it comes apart for cleaning. Very sturdy and well made. I highly recommend it.

The convenience factor is really great. You don’t have to cool your liquid down before putting it into your blender and it’s quieter than a blender which is nice for when you have sleeping kiddos which is why I bought this. However, it does not make your sauce as smooth as a blender would. I made marinara sauce and it ended up very slightly chunky like a salsa consistency when previously using a blender I’ve been able to get my sauce very smooth. I prefer the blender in my opinion!
