I have never replaced an RJ45 connector before, but I got it right first time with this tool. The included mini insulation stripper was actually quite useful on my test cable, and the flat cable stripper worked without damaging the core insulation. I have given it 5 stars but note I did have to loosen and re-tighten the flat cable cutting blade as it wasn't placed correctly on arrival. This is a user serviceable item and adjusted in seconds so it's worth checking.

My goodness has this kit been a sanity-saver whilst redoing the network wiring around my parents house on a budget (as in, not paying disgusting price to get someone else to do the job); included in the kit is basically everything you need for general, DIY network cable management, it doesn't break the bank, and the included carry case/pouch keeps everything neat, tidy and together so you aren't faffing around for hours trying to find a single tool!

Diagrams on the handle are very helpful, blades are sharp enough and it came with everything I needed to cut and re-crimp a cable. Very happy

The kit looks promising until you start using it and realise that it is cheap and frustrating garbage. I have looked at different kits and decided to go for a more expensive one thinking that the quality will be better. Now I appreciate that there are crimping tools alone that cost more than this kit but wanted something that works and can do it all. Well, I can't tell if the RJ45 connectors or the crimping tool or both are rubbish (I lean towards the latter). I have attached a few pictures that speak for themselves. I have tried doing 10 cables just to give it the benefit of the doubt (maybe I was an idiot despite doing IT for 20+ years) and used 3 different ethernet cables with either soft or hard wires and managed to get 3 working properly, maybe and supposedly as I can't truly trust them. I mean, if you lean them with the metal pins towards the female counterpart, you may get a few others "working" but you can't rely on something like that... Most of the times the crimping tool struggles to get the 5th wire done properly while on occasions other pins will be affected too no matter how many times you try to re-crimp and how hard. This is only frustrating and unusable, and a waste of time and materials. I don't know how others managed to have a positive experience. :(

Looks good and works well. Inclusion of ethernet plugs, cable covers, spare blades and a stripping tool is a nice touch. Very pleased so far.
