The Ancient Egypt Sleepover

As a teacher, I love this book. Perfect chapter lengths and lots of online resources by the author to support Whole Class Reading. The story itself is well written and engaging. My Year 4s are loving it. Very accessible. Perfect to companion an Ancient Egypt topic. As it is a crime mystery and not an ancient tale or has monsters, it is a nice change of pace.

This was a recommended read for the topic of Egypt. A fast paced and exciting adventure with lots of information about Ancient Egypt. I really enjoyed it and will be reading this to my class.

Read this book with my class (Mixed age, SEN primary school children).Our topic was Ancient Egypt. They loved the many plot twists and range of characters. We loved this book and was so sad when it was over! Best children's book I have read in a long time.Would recommend to anyone - especially someone with an interest in drama, plot twists, Ancient Egypt and/or history.Bought physical and kindle copies.

When I read 'The Ancient Egypt Sleepover' I thought 'wow! this is better than I thought it would be, because I can't usually finish a book as I get bored and distracted easily, but it is impossible to get bored while reading this fabulous book. My favourite moment was the hot chocolate incident. I loved this book and it is the first book I have ever read all the way through. I would definitely recommend this book to everyone. He is now my favourite author. Freya T Age 10.

I’ve read this with my year 4 class. We were all gripped all the way through. You know the children are loving it when you could hear a pin drop whilst you read to them and they want to stop back for the next chapter. It worked great alongside our Ancient Egypt topic and reinforced the learning. Definitely recommend for education or pleasure.
