Yale Small Value Safe, Digital Keypad, LED Light Indicators, Steel Locking Bolts, Emergency Override Key, YSV/200/DB2

I picked up this Yale Small Value Safe for £19, which is an excellent price for what you get. I bought it as a gift for my nephew, who’s recently started collecting coins and wanted a secure place to store them after seeing my larger Yale safe. For a small, budget safe, build quality is better than expected. The steel body feels solid enough for its intended purpose, the locking bolts engage positively, and the door closes cleanly without feeling flimsy. This is very much a deterrent safe rather than high-security storage, but that’s exactly what you should expect at this size and price. The digital keypad is simple to set up and easy to use, which makes it particularly suitable for younger users. The LED indicators are clear and give immediate feedback when locking or unlocking. The interior light is a nice touch and makes it easy to see contents in a dim room.Capacity is ideal for documents, sensitive information, small valuables, or collections like coins. It’s compact enough to sit on a shelf or in a cupboard without being intrusive. The emergency override key is reassuring to have, especially if the code is forgotten or the batteries run flat. This is a great starter safe. It’s not secure enough to store items of serious value, and if that’s your goal you really do need to go bigger and heavier. But for basic security, organising important papers, or giving a younger person a chance to interact with proper safety storage, it works very well.Overall, excellent value for money at £19. A simple, easy-to-use safe that’s ideal as a first step into secure storage rather than a replacement for a full-size safe.

I bought this for our passports and some emergency cash, and it’s been exactly what we needed. For the price, it’s excellent value for money and feels much more sturdy than some of the unbranded ones I looked at.The setup was very easy—I had my code programmed in minutes. A big plus is the key functionality; it comes with two manual override keys that are hidden behind the Yale logo on the front. It’s a huge relief knowing I can still get in if the batteries ever fail or if I forget the code.Because it’s a compact size, it was very easy to find a good hide place for it. I’ve tucked mine away at the back of a built-in wardrobe, and since it’s pre-drilled, I was able to bolt it directly to the wall. It’s straightforward to use and small enough to stay out of sight, but big enough for all our important documents. Highly recommended for basic home security!

Compact size safe however there is a bit of a quality control issue the batteries aren't the great had to replace them. Harbour overall I'm satisfied with the safe. Only giving 4 star due to quality control, value for money

I've been using this safe for several years now, and it's been reliable throughout. The digital keypad is straightforward to use, and I like that it comes with emergency override keys in case the batteries ever run flat. Thankfully, I've never needed to use them, but it's reassuring to know they're there. It's a good size for storing smaller valuables and important documents, and once installed it feels secure and does exactly what I expected. Overall, it's been a dependable little safe and I'd happily recommend it.

This safe was better than I expected. Right size for what I needed and simple to set up code etc. Comes with batteries supplied and set of two keys. Very simple to bolt onto wall etc with fitting screws etc supplied. Very happy with purchase.

Good little safe, with a key back up.using for passports etc

The Yale Electronic Safe Small, with its standard security features, is a compact and straightforward option for safeguarding your valuables. Here's an overview of this safe:Compact Design: This small safe is suitable for storing essential documents, jewelry, and small items, making it a practical choice for those with limited space.Electronic Lock: The electronic lock provides a modern and convenient way to secure your belongings. The keypad offers easy access, and you can set your own PIN code.Solid Construction: The safe is built with solid materials that provide a basic level of protection against theft and tampering.Emergency Override Key: In case of battery failure or lockout, an emergency override key is included, ensuring you can always access your items.Pre-Drilled Holes: The safe comes with pre-drilled holes for mounting, adding an extra layer of security. In summary, the Yale Electronic Safe Small is a basic, no-frills option for keeping your valuables secure. Its compact design and electronic lock offer convenience, but it doesn't provide the highest level of security. While it serves its purpose for protecting smaller items, the absence of advanced security features and a more compact size are the reasons for the three-star rating. It's recommended for those who need a simple and affordable safe for their basic security needs.

Big enough for purpose and quite sturdy. Instructions are not clear, it says to slide logo to put key in. Won't slide, Google said it has to be priced off. Unlocked it, battery compartment broke 2 nails opening it. Put batteries in and it 'works' the lock with door open but not when closed. Google says batteries are cheap and to buy better ones and try again. They make it bleep but not enough power to open the door when closed and locked. Disappointed I can't use it today. I may be back!
