I never write reviews but I felt compelled with this product. This mandolin is super sharp and definitely gets the job done but let this be a warning, BE VERY CAUTIOUS using this product or you will most likely cut yourself! Before I even used it i seen plenty photos in the comments of people who injured themselves using this. I tried used it with caution but the tool used to protect the fingers wasn’t working out well with my cucumber so I did it by hand and let me just say this, do not get anywhere near the end of cutting and use this without protection lol, I barely slid the top of my thumb past the blade and it still took a nice little piece of skin with it. A cm deeper and I definitely would have bled. I myself I still feel it’s not at fault of the product everyone should just use this product with the utmost precaution. Works amazing though!

This is badass and horribly dangerous. It’s the best one I’ve ever used. Sharp as a surgeon’s scalpel. Be very careful careful and go slow and deliberate strokes. When you get close stop. Don’t worry about getting the last 2 slices. That’s when you get cut. If you use this carefully you will be very happy with the results. If you are in a hurry, better get used to the nickname of “lefty”.

I would give this 5 stars but because there all inherently dangerous and great care should be used. This one comes with two gloves to protect your fingers USE THEM! The design is excellent, the materials used are good quality plastic and stainless steel, I was especially impressed by the feed handle holder. The only thing you can't do that is wish was available on these Mandolines is replace the blade itself, but you can't have everything. The versatility without having to change your cutting patterns and hight adjustments all build into one unit so nothing gets lost is exceptionally thought out. I've wanted a new Mandoline for a long time, but when my old one's blade went bad I threw it away along with all of its parts (different brand) and since I had children i didn't get a new one. I forgot how handy these are for casseroles, French fries, vegetable snacks for guests and entertaining. BUT USE THE GLOVES provided, even if you don't think you need to at the time (no extra red protein in your food). Well I expect this one to last much much longer than the previous one I bought from another company. Even the blade seems stronger, time will tell, now I can make my grandma's German potato salad like she did when I was a kid. Not to mention homemade au gratin potatoes, YUM! Some things in life are worth the risks, this is one of mine, (yep nicked right away from over confidence and NOT using the glove. Cut so sharp didn't even feel it, my own falt 100%.) Cleaning is a little more time for me, but that's because I let it air dry in the rack after a quick wipe off of extra water. So 5 stars for product, 4 stars for ease of use, 5 stars for design, 5 stars for construction, 5 stars for safety equipment, 5 stars for providing extra cleaning utensils.

I looked at some of those other fancy plunger-type mandolins and settled on this simple one. Easy to clean. Works great with all kinds of vegetables. Slices tomatoes thin or thick to your liking. As others have said, it is very sharp and you MUST pay attention to what you are doing before you accidentally un-attach a fingertip. I always use the pusher thingy. I also return the height adjustment to even-level before washing, handling, or storing, and am very careful, to minimize exposure to the blade.

It’s ok but there is a lot of veggie waste because you can only slice to a certain point and then use a knife to finish up. The veggie hand holder is helpful but limiting. It’s great to hold the veggie but limiting in that I wound up with plastic bits on my veggies because I did not stop slicing soon enough and the blades sliced off pieces of the hand holder which is plastic. Not a big issue since I was able to rinse off my potatoes. It’s seems durable and the blades are sharp! Do not attempt to slice without the hand holder; I learned the hard way as my potato got stuck on the blade and my finger kept going. Only con is that I was attempting to crisscross/slice my potatoes similar to Chic-fil-A which I somewhat achieved but the narrow channel only allows use of smaller potatoes to achieve a similar cut.

Good quality the nights are Sharp slices and dices about anything in a heartbeat be careful it is sharp does the job very happy with it highly recommend it for anybody that likes salads diced onions whatever you want to do with it it does it keep your fingers out of the way

I know it is hands on but the one my wife used for years was frightening to watch. This device has built in safety so you don't slice off finger tips. Wife loves it. That means I am happy.

this mandolin is easy to set up and use. it's ready out of the box with gloves and a veggie holder to keep hands safe. all the blades and parts are attached to it so you won't have to worry about changing and finding new blades
