Feels Exactly Like the Original and Works in RetroArch
Original Review, 11/23/20: Loving this controller so far! You'll need to rebind it in RetroArch if you've been using something more standard, like an XBox or PS4 controller. Also, it's a D-input controller and not X-input. Same deal as an 8Bit-Do, if you've ever used one of those. And the control stick itself moves so smoothly compared to the original N64 controller I have! I saw a review here on Amazon about the cord becoming frayed. I have taken note and will make damn sure nothing happens to it. $16 is a good price. If you're on the fence, go for it. UPDATE, 11/28/20 The D-pad can be spotty. If I'm holding up and left, the controller will occasionally not process ANY input, causing much frustration. Additionally, if I try to hold just "UP", it can process a diagonal input at times. Readjusting your thumb works sometimes, but if you're doing a complex movement, consider it ruined. These are not game or emulation issues. This was tested/confirmed an issue by looking at the controller output in the "Game Controllers" panel in Windows. However, if you're not going to use the D-Pad, then I guess this isn't an issue at all. Further research has shown that in the N64 community, any 3rd party stuff is not really trusted. So if you really want something that works well, get an original OEM controller and pay ~$12 for a replacement stick. (The repair is apparently easy enough and doesn't require any soldering.) Then get an N64 -> USB controller adapter. This controller will still be fine for non-D-pad games. Just thought the extra info would be appreciated!

Great old school controller that brings back good memories
I got this controller due to the many positive reviews on the black one, so I decided to get both to try. Just like the other black controller, this one is great for my emulator games, but in dark red color. The buttons are fully customizable via emulators and it works great with my PC. I am able to play my favorite games from the past with the controller that I liked best. The only thing that can make this controller better is if it is wireless. Overall, I am very pleased with my purchase, and would definitely buy more as Christmas gift in the future.

Good controller with a cheap feel. It works tho and that is what matters
This works great as a PC controller. My only complaint is that it feels cheap and does not have much weight to it. I might crack it open and add some weight as it feels strange in the hands. Overall it works well as an n64 controller and the buttons seem to be holding up well.

Turned my laptop into an N64
The buttons feel great and give good feedback. It works really well with Project 64, but I've also been able to configure it to play Spyro and Crash games comfortably. The analog stick has great sensitivity and allows me to move fast or slow in games such as Mario 64 or Ocarina of Time. The one and only possible downside to this controller is that the port in the back is only for aesthetics and doesn't actually support attachments like the rumble pack, however; that's really not a big deal for me. The pros of this controller heavily outweigh the cons.

D-Pad Doesn't Work Correctly! Button Mapping Screwy!
The controller doesn't map correctly with my Raspberry Pi! In addition, the D-pad doesn't work correctly. It rounds movements off and makes games that require precise movements impossible to play. I can play through the entire original Contra on 1-2 lives... can't make it through the first level with this controller! It even makes original Gameboy games nearly impossible. Very frustrating! I bought 2 and one maps incorrectly, both have terrible D-pads.

Good for a cheap controller, but feels "obviously cheap"
The controller works perfectly, but you can tell it was cheaply built as soon as you pick it up. The left and right shoulder buttons have slightly different resistance, for example. Other than that, my computer recognized it as a standard joystick as soon as I plugged it in, and it was easy to map the buttons in my N64 emulator and get started playing right away.

Excellent choice for your Retropie system
This controller replicates the look and feel of the original Nintendo controller. The analog joystick doesn't feel quite as solid as the original but seems like it should last. All the buttons are there but unfortunately no Select button (used in combination with Start by Retropie to exit an emulator) so I would keep a controller with one handy. Funny thing, there is the slot for the expansion cartridge (shock pack?) but no connector so I'm guessing they are using an old set of molds to make the housing.

Hours of N64 gaming, here I come!
Talk about a trip down memory lane to my childhood! Grabbed this a few weeks ago because I had a hankering to play some Super Mario 64, DK 64 & 007 Golden Eye, etc. Grabbed me a solid Emulator, downloaded my ROMs, configured the buttons and voila! I'm using this on my Samsung Galaxy Tab S3. The controller hooks up and works flawlessly with the USB-C to USB converter. After configuring the buttons in the settings of the emulator, I'm able to play all my favorite games with ease. No lag in the buttons. This controller helped me to feel like I'm back in the late 90s.
