Much Better Than My Bosch 18V I switched from an 18V Bosch hammer drill to this DEWALT 20V MAX, and the difference is substantial. Build quality feels a clear step up—I’ve dropped this one from a ladder several times with zero damage. Power delivery is stronger and more consistent thanks to the brushless motor, while the compact size handles tight spots well. It fits perfectly into my existing DEWALT battery system. The only downside is some fatigue during long overhead sessions due to weight. Solid, durable tool that outperforms my old Bosch in everyday use.

I am sure the drill is great. Much heavier and torque than my one of over 19 years that I love. I needed the upgrade for the hammer drill for framing a couple of medium size rooms into concrete. What annoyed me, I got it for Xmas from the family (I chose it) but it came with no box or manual. Do I really need these things, no, probably not. It does suggest that this was a returned item. Also fine, it appears unused, no blemishes at all, but I paid for a new unit. Might return it, just to make sure I get what I paid for. Really hate when Amazon tries to pawn off returned items as new, without the proper packaging.

It works great! 01/2026 - Update: It will not disengage from hammer-drill mode. I took it apart and the problem is in the chuck side of the drill head. I removed the hammer-nubs and it works fine as an ordinary drill. I recently purchased a DeWalt SDS hammer-drill, so, I’m covered for both uses. If you are an average/semipro user, a DeWalt fits the need for the price. As a pro user I suggest the hi-er-end DeWalt or a Hilti hammer drill.

I bought this for a small project that I would need to put in several concrete anchors for a fireplace surround. Regular drills just won't cut the mustard for drilling concrete. The drill, like most Dewalt stuff is well built and feels sturdy in your hand. It drills concrete anchors of up to about 3/8 of an inch with no problem but most decidedly needs a side handle attachment for the torque required for larger holes. Doing some research I found there is no side handle attachment that can be added, either OEM or aftermarket as there is no good place to attach one, even those that have the metal band that tightens down. Overall its a good unit for the average guy who needs that extra power to drill concrete or cc blocks but if you need to drill bigger holes or were going to use it all day for work I' say jump up to the bigger unit with the side handle. It costs a bunch more but would be worth it as a contractor. Battery life seems pretty good with my existing dewalt batteries but I found the 5ah battery had more power and lasted much longer than the standard 2ah battery. I have actually found myself using this in place of my drill driver for most applications as it just has more oomph.

I bought this to replace my old DEWALT drill. The quality on this is much better than the original one. I use it as most would and I also used it to power my ice auger. It worked great. I have had no issues with it.

La verdad, para los pequeños trabajos que hago es una gran herramienta. Sólo de verlo te enamoras, gran poder, ergonomía, peso, calidad. La luz que tiene es de gran ayuda. Por 2k de precio ¡Inmejorable! Espero que me dure muchos años funcionando bien. Lo recomiendo ampliamente. Ah! Me enviaron una maleta Dewalt de regalo que no incluía en la descripción, gracias. Cabe perfectamente el taladro, el cargador y dos baterías power stack.
