I read this hoping it would be a good level to practice reading in french, as my level is not very advanced, and i was not disappointed! It's pretty enjoyable at perhaps an intermediate/upper intermediate level. It's not too long, it has lovely illustrations, and the story is pretty good.

La bête, sous des dehors repoussants, l'entoure de soins.La Belle finit par aimer la bête pour ses qualités cachées et le délivre d'un mauvais sort.Les contes sont écrits pour leur morale. Ici, dans un texte très court, les pistes de réflexion sont nombreuses et restent modernes : sacrifice personnel pour le bien commun, laideur apparente contre force de caractère, source du vrai bonheur en couple etc.

I thought the book was going to be thicker, but it's alright, the book looks good.

A very old French story (in French) that has been retold in many languages, including English. The original French tale is the basis of the Disney movie: Beauty and the Beast which is the literal translation of the French title. Very beautifully done with great illustrations.

The illustrations are beautifully done, and the French is simple enough for early intermediate-level readers. Also a classic story. I enjoyed reading Bell's dialogues with her father and the beast.

The page decoration looks good.A little thing inconvenience, the on-screen push dictionary doesn’t work.

A French movie was made in 1946 from this fairy tale. The directeur was Jean Cocteau and the principal acteur was Jean Marais. It was excellent . I saw it when I was a teenager and again when I was an adult and it was the same enchantment. On my opinion this movie was much much better than Mme Marie Leprince de Beaumont simple morality tale yet I am glad to have been able to read this original tale.

This is a terrific way to get a top flight fairy tale to read to your kids. The illustrations are terrific, and the text gets you back to the pre-Disney story. The passions and obsessions that boil under the simple classical language are skillfully pulled toward the radiant moral conclusion. If the tale is to your liking, you might try to find the movie by Jean Cocteau. Both make rare and beautiful experiences for a family setting.

A lenda do amor entre Eros e Psique está na origem de "La Belle Et La Bête", escrita em 1756 por Madame de Beaumont (1711-1780), conhecida romancista francesa.Em síntese, trata-se do exemplo do amor romântico capaz de superar as aparências físicas, mas também era uma boa maneira de tentar convencer as jovens de antigamente a aceitar casamentos arranjados com homens mais velhos a troco de ajuda financeira para a família. Por sinal um costume frequente na época.Diferente da adaptação dos estúdios Disney, a hisroria prega a abnegação e a obediência além da gratidão no lugar da paixão, o problema é que na vida real, a fera jamais vira um belo príncipe... Aliás, talvez seja o próprio ser humano a verdadeira besta em busca de redenção.Para finalizar, um pequeno toque de humor: existe um filme homônimo de Jean Cocteau (1889-1963) em que a Bela fica muito decepcionada ao ver a transformação do monstro num belo homem. Cercada de sarcasmo, talvez aí esteja o verdadeiro amor.Bonita edição ilustrada, recomendo.

A história de "La Belle et la Bête" é um tanto diferente daquela que conhecemos, principalmente através dos estúdios Disney. É bem mais concisa, vai direto ao ponto e isso nos poupa de páginas e paginas que não necessariamente trariam algo de relevante para o desenrolar dos acontecimentos. No que diz respeito a esta edição para Kindle, as ilustrações são bonitas, mas é ruim de ler: não é possível ver as palavras no dicionário, aumentar ou diminuir a fonte, fazer destaques e o texto, na verdade, é uma imagem sobreposta ao desenho de fundo. A formatação deixa a desejar.

A very charming book that's fun to read in French. I'm curious to know why I was charged $0.10 via my desktop pc, but they wanted $3.98 via my tablet? I'm glad I saw that difference, finally, because I have a few other books that are cheaper via my desktop. Very annoying mistake for people who have ordered with their tablets!

Molto bella. Illustrazioni classiche di Crane riprodotte in alta fedeltà. Le pagine senza illustrazione presentano comunque una ricca cornice decorata, sicché i colori vestono tutto il libro, senza peraltro stonare.
