What is the best way to prepare the pump ( i.e., clean the pump) before installing the impeller?

I just too a small round brush (like a bottle brush or much smaller) and in the kitchen sink I cleaned the whole pump up. put the impeller in and it has been working great ever since! Good luck. Hope it works for you as it has for me!

Would this work for a danner model 24 E160713?

Can the actual impeller piece be purchased separatey from the assembly, i.e the part with the blades only?
