This is Rome: A Children's Classic

My daughter was studying in Rome for the semester and I bought this book for her as a welcome home gift. She absolutely LOVED it! The pictures are adorable and the text is sweet.. truly a lovely memory of a wonderful trip. The whole series of Sasek book are classics that can be enjoyed by both young and old.

sasek's books are all visually lovely, no doubt about it, however they are also incredibly informative, which i quite appreciate. this book is littered with amazing images and interesting facts. i would definitely say this entry has some of the more elegant images present in sasek's books. and as with all the updated printings of sasek's books, there is a welcome list of "this is the city...today!" at the end of the book with changes listed since the original printing. it is great to see both the way the city WAS as well as the present day differences. i highly recommend this book if you are interested in either rome, or simply in wonderful illustration.

As I knew it would be.

This series of books are the best! Great pictures and they are especially good if you have been there as they bring back great memories. Great for adults and teaching children about wonders out in the world to explore.

This is a terrific series of books. They are beautifully illustrated and a great way for a child (or adult) to learn about a city. Love the book and highly recommend it.

Purchased this book for my granddaughter (6) to read about two weeks before her mom and I left on a 2-week vacation to Italy. We had bought her a map, also, of Italy and she followed our journey as we Skyped her nightly. :) But, she loved this book. She read of all the places we were going and asked us questions about them. She would hold up her book at night when we were Skyping and point to the things we'd seen. Highly recommended. :)

I love this series of books! It's both engaging & informational for children & adults alike! I would recommend any of the books for kids who would like to learn about the worlds great cities!

Un libro precioso y con mucho encanto.

These books are wonderful! We purchase them before we go visit a new place with our kids (3, 5, and 8) and it really helps them look forward to what we are going to see during our trip. Some things are a bit out-of-date, but in the back they have little updates for the current state of things. The illustrations are great as well and the kids really like them. The amount of detail in the books relating to certain sites you might see or things the kids would appreciate is awesome. Definitely recommend these books if you are planning a family visit or if your kids would just like to learn about far away places.

Full of historic information. An excellent book!

We bought this for a trip to Rome with our two boys (2 and 4). The book is fantastic for adults and children alike! Beautiful drawings of the major attractions / sights, accompanied by short descriptions. This makes it a nice compact overview of Rome for adults, too. The kids loved this book and my older son really had his mind set on seeing some of the things he had seen in the book. We took it with us into the city so that we could look at the pictures while visiting the different sights. Highly recommended!
