Excellent!!! No bugs!
Ok. So I don’t usually leave reviews. But, I was searching on Amazon for a while for a yellow light that I can put in an outdoor (porch) fixture that won’t attract bugs and all the ones I saw prior to this product Had some reviews saying it didn’t help at all. I found this product via my dad. He recommended it. So I gave it a try. What can I say! It’s amazing! Works like a charm! I can finally enter my apartment w/o being swarmed by bugs and w/o allowing any bugs into the apartment Wh me!To address the concern of some the review I read- Yes! The bulbs are Small! HOWEVER, they FIT FINE in a regular fixture. Like mine pictured.Additionally- YES, they’re not SUPER BRIGHT! But they’re definitely bright enough to illuminate a pathway or porch at night. These are an amazing product!Buy it and thank me later.

Where have all the bugs gone?
If I could give it 10 stars, I would. I live in the woods high on a hill and keep the corner light on all the time for when I get home after dark. There's been no choice but to walk through a cloud of flying insects, both big and small, and the accompanying quickly-constructed spider webs trying to catch a feast -- until now.I am stunned. I'm not kidding! There's not a *single* insect flying around these lights! I put them in when there was a full moon and thought maybe the bugs were just more attracted to the moon the first couple nights -- but it's been a week and the moon is gone and still no flying critters. The light is very pleasant and casts a much larger lighted area than my previous floodlights. It's not too bright at all but quite light enough to see very well.I will miss seeing the variety of moths on the siding in the mornings (and I'm sure the birds will miss their breakfast), but nonetheless, I'm sticking with these lights.UPDATE: I just ordered another package of these bulbs so thought I'd update on performance. My original bulbs purchased 2 years ago for exterior lights are just as bright as day one - and I burn them 24/7, winter and summer. I installed another exterior corner light on the opposite side of the house and needed two bulbs, but got the package of 4. It's just amazing to me how well these did/do at getting rid of virtually all night time flying insects. I've not opened the front door to a massive spider web that spans the entrance in all this time, a daily summertime happenstance with white bulbs. I passed an extra bulb to a neighbor and the other to my teen who is using it as a reading light for her nighttime Kindle usage and she's said it does, indeed, allow her to fall asleep more quickly when she's finished. Indoor use is not something I would have thought about if not for the package suggestion – makes me that much more pleased!

So far, so good!
I rated 4 stars because I only installed these recently so I have no idea re: their longevity. They are very bright, though, and a nice warm yellow. I've heard most bug lights work for repelling insects when other nearby light sources are brighter/bluer. My neighbors seem to have regular white bulbs, so I do get fewer insects. If they were also using yellow bulbs, maybe I wouldn't see much effect, as other reviews have said.

3 yrs later
So far I have only used one and it is still going strong all night every night for the last few months and nearly 24/7 for the preceding 2.75 years. Great for the sale price I paid. I did use a second bulb for a few weeks in a temporary fixture on a new addition until we bought a decorative permanent fixture. Now it sits waiting for the 1st bulb to fail.

Doesn’t stop bugs
I’ve had this light on my porch for over a month. Bugs are still attracted to this light. Doesn’t do much to deter them. I’m a little disappointed.

Good light for the porch
The bulb is smaller than standard, about 2" in diameter vs. 2.5". Your fixture may have a small opening through which to insert the bulb, making it difficult to hold onto the bulb deep into the fixture in order to screw it in. I used the carboard tube from a paper roll, just a bit smaller than the bulb, and made 4 slits like an X so the bulb could slide in. I pushed the bulb in just past the 'equator' and used tape around the tube to hold it snugly (check that the bulb will still pull out), then used that to screw it in. Easy-peasy!For a 40-watt-equivalant, it throws off enough light to see, but not so bright that it lights up the whole yard or blinds you as you approach the door. The glass on my fixture is clear, so I slipped a piece of copy paper inside to create a 'shade' to soften it up a bit. Now I get a nice, even glow that's not at all harsh but still lights the way.Other LED bulbs I've used in this fixture were also rated as outdoor, but only lasted about 18 months. It will be interesting to see how long these last, but 4 for $13 is a bargain, so I won't complain if I only get 18 months out of these, and any longer will be a bonus (not having to replace it!).
