Easy assembly
Easy assembly and the cage seems to keep the small varmints from spinning the thrower. Holds about 4.5 50lb bags of corn

Great for our needs
This is the second one we've bought. After seeing the durability of the first one at one stand, we decided to buy another one for our second stand. Easy to put together and holds a good amount of corn for our needs.

***UPDATED 9/5/22*** Timer Lasted a Week
***UPDATE*** well they sure don’t make them like they used to…after little more than a a year, we have C-clamps holding the two sections of the barrel together in two different spots, the sides are caving in (likely due to the combo of cheap thin plastic construction, and a typical Texas summer), and the motor that dispenses the corn quit about a week ago. So disappointed in the overall quality of the product. I’ve downgraded it to one star. Don’t waste your money folks. So, you know how the MAIN component of any barrel feeder like this is the timing mechanism? Yeah, trust me it is the MOST important element. Timer on this one lasted about a week. Fortunately, our feeder is only about 200 yards from the house and I can hear when it goes off. Only what I heard was...perplexing. I was standing on the porch, and the feeder went off..."Huh" I thought, "must be the time of day for it." And even before the thought finished, the feeder went off again, for less than 2 seconds, and about 10 seconds later it went off AGAIN. We went to check on it, and found about 100 lbs. of corn on the ground. And the feeder going off every 10 seconds. We immediately pulled the battery, replaced it with a new one, and reset the timer. As soon as we did, and buttoned it back up, it started all over again. We scooped up the corn, pulled the battery and timer, and I went to call Amazon customer service. The customer service rep informed me that in order to help me I'd have to BOX UP THE ENTIRE FEEDER AND TIMER and send it back. Uhh....no...freakin'...way. I'll get to how stupidly simple/complex the assembly was in a minute, but back to the return. I told the rep there was NO way I was boxing this thing back up to return and could they just send me a timer? After a brief hold he came back with a resounding no. Sigh........he did, however, offer me a partial refund (approx. the cost of a new timer) as an Amazon credit and I was happy. I really was only happy because we happened to have an old timer that still worked when the old feeder collapsed prompting this purchase in the first place. It's simple, and works perfectly. Now, to the assembly...pretty easy, pretty straightforward, except for one small part. The latch that keeps the top shut. There is NOT A SINGLE (UNDERSTANDABLE) EXPLANATION OF WHERE/HOW THE THING GOES ONTO THE LID. After fighting it for several minutes, and nearly giving in to frustration, we visited YouTube for a how-to video where the latch installation was explained. Once we got that done, and the feeder up on its legs, we filled it and have had zero issues since. Even with intense rain/wind events, no water has gotten inside and the critter guard works to keep those pesky squirrels out of the food. Except for the aforementioned timer issue - which I know others have had problems with - this baby would get 5 stars. As it stands, how can you give an item a glowing review when the MOST IMPORTANT COMPONENT is useless? Fix the timer problems, guys.

Design has caused water damage to feed.
Materials for construction is good. Electronics and motor operates great. Design has caused a couple of issues. 1. Wind can blow the lid open, caused total loss of a full bin of feed. Added a bungee strap from hinge to front top/bottom flange midway down the storage drum. Lid now stays closed. 2. Hinge area and top/bottom flange area leaks during heavy rains, caused another total loss of a full bin of feed. Added a grill cover that fits a round grill that will cover from the top down past the midway top/bottom flange.

Varmint cage works great
Feeder works great, easy to set up. I used bolts to put together instead of pins supplied. Varmint cage works to squirrels away.

Easy to change battery's.
I like it a lot and the price was great. It took me about 2 hours to put it in my field. The deer are happy.
