The water filter is too tall. I have a aquarium for turtles, and it is only 3/4 with water.

Edit: After 8 months of use, the impeller stuck and the insides melted causing my tank water to smell of burnt plastic. Most of my fish died. Not happy.Firstly, this thing moves an enormous amount of water. I have it in a 60 gallon and have it set at maybe 50% so the tank isn't just a swirling vortex. 5 stars on suction power.Noise level 3/5 it is reasonably quiet without the aeration going. with it on, it's all I can hear in the room so its a no go for me unless I need to pump a lot of air quickly into the tank.Construction I am going to give a 2/5. The power head is beefy and the plastic is solid. The sponges seem to be of good quality and I feel like this thing is going to last a long time. With that having been said, the detent on the basket/powerhead interface is woefully inadequate. Due to its size, the slightest bump knocks the whole filter basket assembly off the powerhead. If you have big fish they will easily knock it off. my largest fish are angels so I don't see it being a problem, but a grown pleco or oscar would knock it free without much effort.The suction cups are strong enough to hold the unit vertical but not horizontal. I wanted to use it horizontally on the back wall so I could hide it behind plants, that's not going to work unfortunately.The outlet directional control is very near to impossible to turn once you have it in the tank and you will knock the basket off trying to turn it or the flow valve so I guess figure that out before you install it.Overall 3/5. It would get higher if it didn't fall apart when you look at it wrong, and it's getting all its points for moving more water than my canister filter.

This filter has been the best so far. I love the 4 different sponges that breaks down the particles before it's release back in water. The only downfall is this store sell no replacement sponges. So now I have to find another filter the same way and that will sell the replacement sponges separately.

Internal filters that I've used in the past drew water from 3 or 4 different sections so all the water did not pass through all the media. This one draws only from the bottom, forcing the water through all the media which is great! I also like the fact that each section can be customized with your preferred media if you don't want to use the sponge filters provided.Great product for an internal filter.
