Kikkerland Oahaca Pull String Windup

I bought this for my boss for this year's Secret Santa exchange. He is into gadgets and engineering stuff and this was right up his alley. It is totally useless to be sure, but it is very cool. It bounces around all spaz-like and you just want to pull its head off to see it go again. It's been a hit at the office. I wouldn't recommend it for a child as it is kind of fragile and I can see that my 6 year old would destroy it in a matter of seconds.

This was a great buy. Our son loves to see that moving parts!

I buy these gadgets as gifts. They are fun to play with when you just want something to do! Oahaca doesn't really travel; he just jitters at a rapid pace. So, if you want something that flips or flies he is not your guy. He is well made and seems pretty durable. I also like how he stands vertically, not horizontal like many of the others-- it's just something a little different. Definitely 4 stars (I rarely give anything a 5 star rating because things usually can always be better)!

Ten of the wind-up toys in this category were purchased to give to my many male relatives who are otherwise hard to buy for - three sons, a brother, and a bunch of teen-age grandsons. Oahaca is a humorous, or perhaps I should say downright silly, toy that works well as a conversation piece on a man's desk and as a goofy amusement for a teen. It is totally pointless, which is a great part of its charm. This toy, or one of its siblings, has been the hit of several birthday parties, never failing to put a smile on many a face with its bouncy, frenetic action. The entire line of Kikkerland mechanical toys are great. I have given my 3 year old son several of them. The pull string is a bit prone to catching in the legs as it draws in so I get a lot of request from my son to "fix it". But he loves them and I do too. I highly suggest them to anyone who has a kid or is one at heart.

I can not understand how to play with this toy. It just trembles. Do not want to go anywhere. The string gets stuck often.Can someone tell me what is it for?

Bought several Windups which the kids really enjoy but this one is frustrating. If the pull string gets out of its guide (which happens a lot) it doesn't work properly and I have to fix it and remind them not to yank. The kids cause the string problem; but, it's a toy for kids. Pintacuda, on the other hand, is so cute we all like to watch it.

I decided to buy this for my 7 year old. He isn't overly rough with his toys but I don't think that would matter much anyway because this windup is durable and fun. Again, more and more I'm noticing that kids like the cheaper more creative toys versus the ones that cost so much more money. Also, this can be bought for an adult or a kid. This is a creative toy.
