Seal tight.
Beautiful jars. I use them for making homemade yogurt. They hold a half gallon each. Suitable for refrigerator or pantry. But do NOT put boiling water in them. I got a hairline crack in one when I poured boiling water in it for a large batch of tea. It does fine with generally hot temperatures, just not boiling water.The lid and clasp work great and are sealed tight even for liquids. I haven’t shaken them with liquids, but they have been tipped over and not leaked.

Nice glass! Jars!
I purchased these to store dry herbs, and they work great for that. They came in on time and as described.. they look lovely. I would like to them and see how they go. I believe the work well for fermentation.

Best type of containers ever
I love these. They make everything just a little better. The one thing that is an issue, the clamp is too tight. Whether I'm opening or trying to close these, the clamp flips up or down with such force that it has bruised my fingers/knuckles. If they were just a little looser, they'd still be just as effective but way easier to use. They are so forceful that I can't let my son open or close them at all because last time he tried (getting cookies out of one), it actually clamped down and pinched his finger between the metal wire handle part and the glass jar and we had trouble getting it loose without injuring him. I'm hoping they loosen up a bit over time but right now, they are way stronger than the old ones I am used to.
