Magnum P.I.: The Complete Series [DVD]

The item has arrived but I haven't tested it yet.

Having seen so many episodes of Magnum P.I. in syndication, I wanted to finally watch the series from beginning to end to see the entire story as it was meant to be told. When I saw this complete series marked down for sale by Amazon, I seized the opportunity. No regrets. I have just completed Season 1 and there have been no major issues with the quality of discs nor the picture quality - some occasional skips in the playback, but nothing major. A fun show to watch which brings back fond memories of the 80's. It is especially nice to see major plot lines which revolve around the Vietnam War (a wound still fresh in the American mind at the time this show began) as well as World War II; stories we simply don't see much of in weekly Prime Time network television these days.

My husband and I both watched Magnum PI growing up and loved the show. We have 2 boys in their early teens and we’re constantly appalled at the trash we see on TV these days. Instead of throwing in the towel and succumbing to what seems to be the new norm in our conflicted society, we’ve chosen to purchase DVDs of more wholesome shows we watched growing up instead of letting our kids watch Disney and other networks that promote things we don’t agree with.

I used to watch this show with my parents when I was a kid. It has some great action. My wife and I were talking about old shows we used to watch and this was hers too. Now we're binge watching the whole thing!

Glad it had subtitles, good series with great cast and writing (mostly). Getting disc out is frustrating. No one appears to have come up with quality packaging for dvds.

Speaks for itself

With the current discount, now was the time to buy. The last time this was shown on TV as repeats, the episodes were grainy and hard to watch.The color on this version is clear and crisp. It brings out the beauty of the island. The audio was consistent and did not make me turn the volume down when a machine gun was being fired or during a car chase. I've only watched the 2 part pilot so far. The pilot had a different theme song, and had Judge Reinhold in a small part.According to the dvd box, this also has several bonus features. A Murder She Wrote crossover Magnum on Ice, and an episode from Knight Rider, The A-Team and Rockford files. Also some episode commentaries. Very happy so far.
