Canteperdrix French Calissons Candy Box from Provence, 18p, 8oz

Frankly, I hesitated to order this product online. Sigh, I’ve been burned….BUT, I enjoyed calissons so much in France many years ago that I decided to take the plunge and order these little cookie/candy gems for gifts this year. And I could NOT have asked for any better experience—they’re delicious, freeze well, packaged sensibly, and my friends were all thrilled. They arrived as promised, cellophaned and ready for delivery.I gave them to those on my list who are notoriously hard to shop for, plus elderly neighbors and hostess gifts. Now, they’re a bit pricey. But what I did for one or two gifts was divide the package, place in cute bags, add a bow, and voila!

These are really delicious! lovely lightly fruit flavored Marzipan with a glazed sugat top. They are beautifully presented, and would make a great gift

I love almond flavor and French pastries so thought these would be delicious. The reality is they have no flavor, are extremely bland except for the sweetness. I would compare these candy's with eating a spoonful of sugar. I'll be giving the remainder to my son and grandkids, if they have a different opinion I'll edit my review.

The candy was perfect, not too sweet and was delicious. I am eating it too fast....I will have to order more soon.

The candy arrived timely. I wouldn't give this as a gift because the container is simply cheap plastic. I thought it would be a metal tin. From the photos in the ad the candy pieces looked larger. There are 18 small little bites which equal out to $1.39 each. Total price was $24.90. The candy tastes fine but not worth $1.39 per small bite. It tastes overwhelmingly like honey and we could not taste any lavender nor smell lavender. Buyer be ware. I couldn't give the pieces away after 4 people in my office tried a piece. Everyone was shocked at the high price I paid for 8 ounces of just ok candy.

I received this today, 4 March 2024, and the expiration date on the back is 12 April 2024 - just a little over a month away. Despite the fact the plastic container was sealed in an additional plastic wrap, the confection was stiff and dried-out and had a weird aftertaste of the plastic container. I will not purchase this again.

I LOVE these! I saw a video on FB about how they are made and I have been hooked ever since! But trying to find them in the states is impossible. Thank God for Amazon!For thise who are curious about the taste and texture (as I was before trying them) the too coat is a hard icing. There is a fine edible paper on the bottom. And the center is like a very dense cake. Like if a cake & a flourless cake had a baby. The taste is almost vanilla almond with a hint of citrus. They are magical! I crave them!
