Fantastic product. The software gives you access to a lot of data under the hood. I watched the training video and skimmed the manual. I invested 15 minutes in reading the instructions and watching the video. I fine-tuned three of my lenses with no issues. As other reviewers have mentioned, the software is not totally automated and perhaps access to a lot of raw data is confusing. However, by way of example, it is important to be able to see the raw data because where the software may report -5 as the sharpest frame the raw data will tell you that you should just leave the focus adjustment at zero because it is a better compromise when you consider other factors like the depth of field, etc. I don't need or want the software to try to do that level of thinking for me. Don't let the reviews scare you, this is a great product. Probably the best available if you have basic technical skills and can read instructions.

This is just ridiculous. The target is fine, but the complicated software comes with no instructions or help file whatsoever. Google long enough, and you might find the guy babbling on a long rambling video. And it is not automated at all to boot. Just ridiculous.

Great
I love this product. I have used it to calibrate numerous Canon lens with 4 DSLRs. I find it easy to use, although the software is a little touchy. You need to click on 5 spots in the image for the software to evaluate the lens. I find that clicking on a spot and then redoing it can make a difference in the results. Overall though, I really like this. I just found that I needed to calibrate and then later recalibrate to verify the results. This does take time so if you have many lenses and cameras be prepared for a couple of days work.

Simple.. yes and no
Set it up and it appears to be simple. Targets are well constructed and will last for years. Great for a photo club or user group to share.Lighting is important. Software will not accept low light images. Keeps coming up with a norm.exe has stopped. In hindsight maybe the software isn't needed if you take enough shots of the target.

2 Stars for Getting Me to Purchase It
I'm careful about what I buy, researching beforehand. And this product gets 2 stars, just for getting me to buy it. I've spent quite a bit of time setting this up, controlling parameters, repeating tests, rechecking settings, alignment, etc...my conclusion is, this is a bunch of hocus pocus and results are different with different sets of pictures, while maintaining all other variables from set to set. That tells me either the focus systems aren't reliable for consistency, or, this is a bad magic show. Having worked in a scientific lab as a technician during college years, I most certainly understand control sets and variables, i've shot all tests under tight controls. Variables include AF adjustments in each set, as well as F stops from set to set. Science and the camera manufacturers tells us the focus system should work the same regardless of F stop with the center of the lens being the "sharpest". Obviously sharpness varies from lens to lens, and from F stops with a range from 5.6 to 9 being the sharpest for most lenses. My suggestion? Use the Dot Tune method on youtube for free. It gives consistent results, repeatable results, and real world results. I can't get jack squat out of this after spending days and days, purchasing and borrowing lenses for comparison, and getting different results every, single, time. I'm sure Michael is a nice guy, but if you look at the revisions of this product over time, and the costs, you'll quickly realize it's more of the same GFong type marketing for unsuspecting buyers.

I wish I'd bought this product earlier
I wish I'd bought this product earlier. Very easy to use, the software is somewhat intuitive. A quick read and off you go. You will need two tripod but the payoff in increased image quality is worth it. Don't wait buy it now..

Good Product but Documentation is Weak
The system (LensAlig + associated software) does indeed work and is an effective means of calibrating your lenses. However, I found the documentation to be very weak which made the use of this product a very frustrating experience. It does work, but be prepared to spend a fair bit of time looking for advice or tips in the various blogs.
