Is this actually a baubax jacket? why does it say bombax?

The size chart inch measurements would be for children. Are the accurate?

The chart is accurate. Is not for children, but to small people. I'm 1.6 meter high (5,2 ft), I got the XL and fit well.

Are the front hand warmer pockets zippered or velcroed?

Neither zippered nor velcroed, just slash pockets. Great jacket for cool to chilly weather. Girls side zipper is a little weird, but not really a big deal. My favorite jacket for cool to chilly weather.

Is this jacket more like a windbreaker or bomber? Going to Paris in early May

Perfect as both. Wore mine in Florence, Pisa, Siena this winter lots.
