Fit in 2018 Hyundai Sonata Sport - even though it doesn't have the little side clips/snaps
When first looking the actual product I was concerned that it was the correct filter. The factory installed and OEM filters for the 2018 Hyundai Sonata Sport with 2.4 l 4 cylinder have these two weird little clips that snap the filter snug and in place. This filter does not have these. The filter does come with a frame and some grease that provides a snug and airtight fit. When I say snug I mean it is tight and snug to the point where you really have to push the filter into the cars filter housing box. At first I tried without putting the grease on it to see if it fit and I couldn't quite get it in. Once I put the grease on and pushed extra firmly it went in and fit perfectly and I could see a tiny bit of the grease ooze out the front.I use K&N filters in my cars and have had for over 20 years. This was the most interesting install, but was simply if you follow the included directions. Installation takes about 5 minutes if you have ever taken the factory one out and replaced it.I recommend K&N Air Filters. I feel like they provide a slight extra boost in performance and economy. The big benefit is that when you put the little K&N sticker on the air filter housing the shops stop bugging you to buy a new filter every time you get an oil change. Just a bonus in my book!

Pleased thus far.
It was an extremly tight fit to close the filter cover but that means its a tight seal! Can tell it improves throttle response but not too sure on gas mileage. It came soaking wet in the plastic it still got the paperwork wet :/ Id recommend letting it dry in sunlight for a day or two and dont open full throttle for awhile to be safe not to get your mass airflow sensor wet. Im pleased thus far.

efficiency and big savings since cleaning and recharging them every +/-40k miles is very easy to do
I've been using k&n filters in all my cars for the longest and they have always given me improved performance, efficiency and big savings since cleaning and recharging them every +/-40k miles is very easy to do. My recent purchase was for my 2016 Hyundai Sonata (Limited w/2.4 L) and the K&N 33-5026 fits perfectly. I don't understand why those purchasing -and giving bad reviews, didn't do their research ahead of time and check its fit in their car. Now I am ready to purchase this model again -also for my wife's new 2017 Sonata Ltd., when it reaches 10k miles to replace the factory air filter.

Perfect fit and noticeable difference in throttle response. 2018 Sonata 2.4L
I have a 2018 Sonata SEL 2.4L and this fits perfectly. I will say that I noticed a difference in the throttle response, felt a bit spunkier. I've always purchased K&N filters and intakes for just about every vehicle I've owned, even put in a Typhoon intake in my dad's f150, and there's good reason for that. The fit is VERY tight, which is why they provide the tube of grease, which mine was actually greased already in the box, and was in the frame, so all I had to do was figure out which way the filter went in and shoved her in. When you get it almost all the way in, it gets caught a bit, and you just have to get it one final firm push, and that lip will slide in.

Quality Control Overlooked
So first off let me say that this is not the first K&N air filter I have purchased. I do really love their air filters. You can feel the quality just holding it in your hands. And this air filter in specific (For a 2017 Hyundai Sonata with the 2.4) came with an adapter tray and grease to ensure a perfect seal. The tray itself was even a quality part. The only reason I'm giving this a 4/5 stars is because there was little tiny plastic shavings stuck in the silver wire mesh. I'm thankful I looked over the filter because these little plastic bits were on the intake side, meaning they very easily could have been sucked off and into the motor. I had to use a little pick tool to remove them without damaging the wire mesh they were stuck in. I don't know if there is any quality control checks but if there are, this was definitely overlooked. So in short, check before you install!

Stupid simple install, and nice results
If you can change a regular air cleaner, you can install this. Why did I wait so long?
