Newt Gingrich's "Treason" and its predecessor book "Duplicity" are two of the best written books of this genre that I have ever
Wow! I couldn't put this book down until it was finished. Newt Gingrich's "Treason" and its predecessor book "Duplicity" are two of the best written books of this genre that I have ever read. And I am a big fan of Nelson Demille, W.E.B Griffin, Alex Berenson, Jack Higgins, Eric Van Lusbader, Ken Follet and Robert Ludlum - all of which I have extensively read. In my opinion, Newt Gingrich has outdone the best of them. The action in Newt's books is non-stop and each scene is not overwrought with unnecessarily long descriptive writing. Hence the novels are relatively short and quick reads. Unlike some really great book series, such as Robert Ludlum's Jason Bourne series, the plots are entirely conceivable and believable. Speaking of being a series, it is obvious from the books ending that the author intends to write at least one more book in this series. As I am completely vested in the book's characters and plot, I for one can't wait for that sequel to hit the market. Bravo Newt!

Great page-turner...love this book series!
This book has a story to be told based loosely on current events. Books in this genre can be too close to home and doomsday-ish, or just completely unrealistic. Newt tells a great story...a page-turner indeed! When he was through Dallas on a book tour I mentioned his books are in a similar tone as Nelson DeMille (who is quoted on this series of books), they are stories which are educational and thrilling.Well Done Newt!

Almost too scary to imagine ... but Newt brings it home
I have yet to be disappointed by a Newt Gingrich novel, whether thriller like "Treason" or alternative history (about the Civil War or Pearl Harbor). "Treason," by Gingrich and Pete Early, begins shortly after events in the harrowing battle versus terrorists described in "Duplicity." While pushing ahead with his attack on the United States, mysterious, charismatic terror leader The Falcon also sends assassins after Marine Major Brooke Grant who was at the point in defeating his plans previously. At the heart of The Falcon's latest plot is a traitor highly placed in the U.S. administration. As with most great thrillers, the action is swift of pace, the protagonists respond heroically, yet humanly. I can highly recommend it. And the third in what, based on a major event at the end of "Treason," is a likely trilogy.

Excellent Writing.
It was good to find an author that offers the kind of book I enjoy reading and I don't need a bath (due to graphic writing) after I complete it. I read very fast and the plot has to move fast or I outrun it and find a new book. I have bought several that I deleted due to 4 letter words and worse. Hard to tell when Amazon does not rank them by filth.

Completely surprised how this kept me interested
I admit I was skeptical about this purchase. It seemed to me a bit slow to start, but quickly became one of those books I did not want to put down till I got to the end of the chapter, then thought, well maybe one more.If one is looking at this author's name and over thinking the political part of that, do yourself a favor, stop thinking that way and get the book. For me, it seemed very current to the times in which we live, but not in a political way at all. It was more about the possibility, and yes, likelihood, that this could and is happening today. Read it and see for yourself, this is one I'll be telling friends to read.

Hard to put this one down
One of the best books I've ever read! I often don't like "political thrillers,' but this one had many levels to it. It makes me think about the state of the US now, and the "PC" issues we currently have to deal with...a lot of "truth" written in this fictional story.

A "fair and decent" read...
I gave DUPLICITY 4 stars, but TREASON only gets 3 stars... Yes, it is a good book; it is fiction! The book TREASON really begins strong but there are many weak parts in the middle, and a lot of rhetoric which I basically, being a speed reader, kind of was able to skim over without losing the story... It ends very well, and the Prologue leaves you believing that there might be a follow-up book... BUY IT; YES! But, buy both DUPLICITY and TREASON because one follows the other... Yes, I do recommend this book even though I am only giving it 3 stars! No doubt that Pete Earley is the main author! Sorry, I call them like i see them...

Another great novel by Newt.
Another super good novel from the multi-talented Mr. Gingrich. I must admit he is one of my all time very favorite people. I so admire his knowledge and the manner in which he imparts it with the rest of us. I have said for years I would love to sit down with headphones and listen to all of his college courses/lectures for days or weeks or months; however long it takes.

The good guys, Brooke and Miles come over as decent ...
A bit far-fetched at times. The good guys ,Brooke and Miles come over as decent people who genuinely want to make the world a better place free from the extreme terrorism of men like The Falcon and Akbar. It is a can't put down thriller which, at times, appears a little too close to reality than is comfortable. I look forward to reading the next in the series and see how the lives of Brooke and Miles develop both personally and in their continued threat from the Falcon.

Up to date and very worthwhile reading.
The American President, should read this - he might learn something - Newt G put a lot into this one, and the series should be required reading for the current government.

Entertaining dashed with a pinch of the plausible.
An entertaining read seasoned with some real life reality checks from a guy in the know.
