You get what you pay for
Not great quality. Very flimsy and the net started to fray and separate within a week of use. The packaging well there was none. Just the skimmer tossed in the shipping box. The box was mangled during shipping, luckley the skimmer wasn't damaged.

A bit flimsy, but working as intended early on
This is for use in a small fish pond. I like the netting- it skims off the moss and debris from the surface and is good at catching the smaller particles. The handle is a little bulkier than I need, but for full extension, perhaps necessary. The pole is metal, but the weak link here seems to be where the net attaches to the pole. The net housing is plastic and the two small nubs that catch in the holes on the pole, are plastic and do not protrude out far enough to hold securely. I can see trouble in the near future, and will probably have to come up with some kind of reinforcement. It just feels a bit flimsy. The last segment holding the net tends to come loose and swivel, which is annoying. I think strong sunlight will quickly degrade the netting, so must be sure to keep it out of direct sunlight when not in use. For now though, it is doing the job.

Nice Pole for Light Use
The quality on this skimmer is actually really nice for lighter applications. I only need it for light skimming in our back yard fountain and I also don't need to drag it through with the pole fully extended. I can see where the spot where the net attaches to the pole could be problematic if you have to do weightier skimming. There's enough wiggling where it could crack the plastic over time. I may tape mine in place just to be safe. For the price though, it's perfect for what I need.

works great - better than a colander!
I've been using a colander (what my kids call a "pasta strainer") to clean the above ground pool for a week now since we installed it. A colander works pretty well but is a lot more time-consuming, as you have to wait to drain the water out and can't reach across the other side, so I get extra exercise walking around to the other side of the pool. Since I got the pool skimmer, I can see how it is a lot easier to use! :D With the pole, it reaches to the other side and it is much less effort to take off all the leaves and stuff from the tree above. I'm pretty happy with it. It was also the only skimmer I could get this week whereas all the other ones on amazon wouldn't arrive for at least a month or two! And the price is better than the other ones listed.

Needs a little manovation
It's not terrible, but the head stays on (or doesn't) by two flimsy button clips. As soon as you try to fling the leaves out of the pool, the net usually goes flying with them. I stuck two stainless screws with washers in there and now it's sturdy as a horse's hind legs (that's a weird thing to say. Where did I even come up with that?). The telescoping handle is really nice though so thumbs up for that

Cheap quality. Waste of money. Net pops off pole.
Without a doubt terrible product. Don't waste your money. I have an 8 ft kiddie pool that's maybe 2.5 ft deep that I wanted to be able to clean the bottom better without bending over too much. The telescoping pole seemed like a great idea! No. It wasn't. The netting attachment pops off with any kind of resistance in the water or a slight shake of the net when shaking the debris off. It's very cheaplly made. Definitely returning this.

You Get What You Pay For
I bought two of these: one for a 500 gallon hot tub and the other for a 2500 gallon swim spa. The heads are wobbly when snapped onto the pole. This will certainly cause breakage prematurely. The netting material is cheap and light weight. The plastic connectors on the telescoping pole are flimsy and will break. I probably will get one season out of these. I can't imagine this being useful or rugged enough to use on swimming pools. Good value for very small amounts of water.

With duct tape- works great
It's perfect except for the mechanism that attaches the skimmer to the pole. Plastic and wore out with the first few uses. I had to use some duct tape and it has held well.
