Yes, this is the original equipment part replacement for a typical Moen kitchen faucet sink sprayer. No, it isn't any better than the original part that stops working -- it's the same thing with the same problem. Even with hundreds -- perhaps thousands -- of negative reviews about this sprayer, all across the Internet, Moen just keeps on selling this rather worthless piece of garbage. Usually, it will get stuck in the "spaying" position, and then you have to resort to extreme measures (I would beat on it with a rubber mallet) to return your sink faucet to normal operating position. And no, I have never found a third-party sprayer that would just screw onto the Moen hose fitting that this screws onto.So, if you want to replace the sprayer, rather than replace the entire hose and sprayer system, you pretty much have to get one of these. The real problem is that this is all rather cheap plastic, and it doesn't hold up to regular usage for more than a few months. Most likely, one of these will not work for more than a year before it gets stuck in the "spraying" position.HOWEVER, the key to "fixing the problem" is to get something like "KEZE Silicone Grease with PTFE (Food Grade)" -- it's fairly easy to unscrew this sprayer from its hose -- you don't even have to turn the water off -- and take it apart. Pay attention to how everything fits together, so you can put it back together again. Or, you can find articles and videos on the Internet that will show you how it goes together. Otherwise, just take it apart, pulling the "piston" part out of the assembly -- it has a couple of black "O rings" that you should lubricate as best you can with the silicone grease. Use a paper towel or something to wipe most of the grease away, leaving some on there for the actual lubrication, then put everything back together and screw it back onto the hose fitting. BINGO -- it should work again. I never noticed any kind of "build up" in my sprayer, but a bit of lubrication certainly got it working again, just fine. I'm writing this only a few weeks since I lubricated mine, so I don't know how long it will continue to work, but presumably a quick lubrication every now and then will keep these things working.FINALLY, in regards to the "color" or "finish" of this thing -- "Stainless" indeed matched what I would call the "brushed nickel" finish of my Moen faucet. "Chrome" is the color for the typical kind of shiny silver finish, then Moen has colors for black, white, and a few other odd finishes. In the end, I got one of these so I could get my kitchen faucet system functioning properly, and then I started trying to figure out how to get the old one working again. And what I have described above is how I indeed got the old one working again.

Bought summer 2024 and it's sticking and won't shut off....bought to replace original which came with faucet and which also only lasted about 1.5 yrs

This is exactly what we needed to replace. Our previous one started to leek so my husband did his research and saw that is the replacement that was needed. I shave to say, it was overwhelming with all the options out there, but this one matched the connector piece we visual observed. Super easy to change it. Very happy.

It does the job!

I'm a 73 year old widow who learned to do simple plumbing jobs around the house after my husband passed away. I've said it before when doing other reviews on Amazon but I'll say it again… If I can do it you can do it. I only needed a hose but I couldn't find just a Moen replacement hose so I bought the hose and the spray head. I could've bought a generic hose but I wanted the real deal. My rule of thumb is to always buy genuine replacement parts. I never buy generic. Genuine cost a little more but the parts are made to fit. Now thanks to Amazon and YouTube videos I can add this to my list of completed plumbing jobs that I did myself without calling an expensive plumber!

This review is more about Moen's design philosophy than about the specific item. The item itself is just a replacement part for a system Moen sells large numbers of worldwide, and which USED to be able to be maintained by the end-user fairly easily. But that's no longer really the case.My wife had this house built before we were married, and I've been here for quite a few years now as well. During that time, I've had to replace the sprayer in the kitchen twice, and in the utility room once. And I say "replace" because the sprayers, which used to be easily disassemblable, no longer are.Anytime you have particles or similar contamination in your water, or just a bit of "hardness" (dissolved minerals) in your water... small moving parts (like found inside of this sprayer) can become "jammed." Ideally, disassembing the unit (and if it's lime deposits from hard water, soaking the plastic parts in question in vinegar to dissolve the lime) would be just ROUTINE MAINTENANCE. I've done that sort of thing before, many times.But this sprayer set? Well, it's not designed to be disassembled. It can be PARTIALLY disassembled, but getting to the spring-loaded plunger and removing it, allowing the bore it slides through and the plunger itself to be cleaned? The current design makes that nearly impossible. It LOOKS like it should be able to remove the component which retains the plunger (accessible from the bottom) using a large allen wrench, but sadly, no... using an allen wrench which actually fits perfectly into the hole in question did not result in being able to unscrew that component... but rather just "rounded out" the hexagonal hole into which the wrench fit. (sigh)At one point, this component was metal, and thus easily removable. At another point, after that but before the current generation, despite needing a special tool to do so, the plastic used was tougher and thus more easily removed if you had that tool. But today? It's wasted effort to attempt to disassemble this sprayer to clean out particulates or lime.No, Moen doesn't want you to maintain your equipment, only to replace it periodically. And that, to me, is reprehensible.It's a nice sprayer... a perfect replacement for one which has failed. But the need to buy replacements? That should not be as common as it has become, with the "design improvements" Moen has implemented.As a result, I'd be inclined to suggest potential buyers give serious consideration to buying from someone else. You shouldn't have to replace your sprayer if, for example, a new house down the block is being built and they allow some "grit" into the water lines while connecting the house to the water mains. That should NOT essentially DESTROY the sprayer you have installed. And yet, several times now, that's exactly what I've experienced.Any device which can't be cleaned? Don't buy it. If you live in an area with very pure water, no hardness, and no major construction going on near where you live, or any major repairs in the foreseeable future, though, by all means, buy Moen, I guess.

excellent product factory, original and nothing to install or uninstall. It simply snap the old one out and snap the new one in.
