Works great!
I've had two other types over the years. The ability of just plugging it directly to your phone and it just works.... So, nice. I only wish it would keep it's shape just a bit more (more stiff). But, in specific situations, a coat hanger taped to it is all that's needed.I would buy it again... Thank you.

Can Make DIY Drain/Sewage Camera/Endoscope
I was looking at buying a sewage scope, but they ranged from $200 to $2000. After watching a video about a guy who made his own with a hand auger and a camera like this Fantronics I thought I'd give it a go (already had the auger). Tried four apps from the Android Play Store before I found one that works with this generic OTG USB camera (and records video/takes pictures as a plus, but only limited amounts unless you pay for the full version). Don't know if I can post name so look for one that touts it does Color and is for an Endoscope/Borescpoe (2023 version worked for me) from a company who adversities it is Easy and says it is a Master Connect-er. I just put some painter's tape to connect the end of the camera to the snake and then zip tied over to give mechanical connection too. I could make out what I was seeing and it served its purpose. There is one twice as long on the platform that rhymes with emu if you need one and don't mind the long shipping time.

Honestly its functional but not 720p as description claims. This is webcam quality not HD
The media could not be loaded. Honestly its functional but not 720p as description claims. This is webcam quality, not HD picture.Focal Distance:I did some testing and the best focus is achieved within 3-5 inches. When its shorter than 3 inches the camera lights are too bright and cause the image to be overexposed. When its longer than 5 inches the camera lights are too dim and the image is underexposed. The Video feed will start to drop frames when it has to adjust the picture for a wide dynamic range(dark spots and bright spots), causing some motion blurring.Software:Out of the 30+ apps i tried downloading only 2 allowed me to receive a picture. The apps were janky, crude and had horrible user interface with childish clip art.The settings within the app would not allow me to view video at 720p resolution which is a selling point of this camera. I could only view live video feed at 640x480. I did try connecting to PC and it allowed me to unlock 720p resolution that way BUT it had such horrible framerate that it was unusable.Cable Rigidity:The cable IS semi rigid. It maintains its shape similar to those fuzzy pipe cleaners you played with in middle school. The end of the cable that connects to the phone however is soft and about 3 inches long. The caveat is that because the cable is semi ridgid, it tends to act as a spring. The longer you have to stretch out the cable to inspect something the harder is to get a picture because the end of the camera is just springing around back and forth.I did like that the connection to the phone is USB C, our 2021 standard. Not something like those micro usb/USB A flipup connections on other scopes that are flimsy.Ive added a video sample along with notes:1st sample has good picture and framerate because the are is well lit and confined2nd and 3 sample have noticeable blur as well as overexposure and underexposure.Last 2 clips i am trying to show focal distance. Yes the image is slightly clear at the 2 inch mark only because the paper is not reflecting back much light. When i test this on pennies you can see how the 2 inch mark is way too overexposed to see clearly. For that reason i say that the focal point is best at 3-5 inches. There is a lot of artifacts that form as you start moving the camera. There is no onboard Optical Image Stabilization so most of the time you have to hold the end of the camera to keep a stable picture. If you can afford it step up and get a real HD quality borescope as this is not HD.

It works !!!!!!!
Been watching these for years waiting for prices to come down I noticed this one and went ahead and got it since it was so inexpensive and while this thing is great the court is so long I've used it for several random things. I'm 67 I'm not great on the computer but I can get by I was able to download the app set it up on the phone it actually went pretty quick. I put the app on my home screen and it's super simple I just hit the app with the thing plugged into my phone and it's all ready to go so simple I can't believe it I used it also for a backup camera on my Jeep when I take my boat down to the dock I just stick it in the tread of my spare tire on back door in the cord goes all the way to the front drivers area where my phone is it's like my own backup camera. Just so many uses unbelievable. Planning on using it for my kayak so I can stick it underwater look around while fishing. Ha.

The sneaky, sleazy, thing no one MENTIONED!!!
Clearly the positive reviews I've read, did not include the fact that, you are not JUST buying a scope, because their software, includes adware, and "watermarks" and it is annoying to me, but along with the scope, I also bought the privilege to pay more for the scope, by buying a package for $2.99 a month or for the whole year for $27.90 and they won't nag you again next year. Isn't that nice of them? If I had to guess, I bet that they will also auto charge for you as well.Just looked back over the ad information for this product and I still don't see any warnings about the adware in their software, or the watermarks, or that the "freeware" is deliberately crippled so they can sell you the same software with all the options & a better quality picture.I have also gone to their website and if you go there...well, you should go to their website: camerafistore.com.How comfortable does that make you feel? For me it's at the same level as finding several hypodermic needles on the beach that I'm walking on, but not as bad as finding dead junkies in the parking lot of my daughters school. For me at least, I feel like I just bought a used car, but failed in thinking that I needed to make sure that the sale included the tires. Oh, and to drive that point home, (no pun intended) did you know that this item also has a case? You can buy that too, separately, for about $7.00 bucks. So I'm planning to return this item because the morals of the distributer are broken. It's sneaky, it's sleazy, it's oily, and it's wrong.
