MegaGear Nikon D5600, D5500 Ever Ready Leather Camera Half Case and Strap, with Battery Access - Black - MG1170

I received this half case and neck strap and was immediately impressed by the quality of leather and stitching. it's not top grain (maybe full grain) leather but its soft yet firm and doesn't scratch easily. should develop nice patina over time. as far as fit, there is a noticeable gap around the protruding section where you grip the camera but I don't find it unusable, or even annoying. I noticed that I just rest my middle finger in the open space, last 2 fingers on the leather, and index on the shutter. The only issue Ive noticed is more of a use case that manufacturer is. When my tripod mount is affixed, I find that the flip out screen on the Nikon d5600 is scrubbing while closing or opening and that sometimes causes the screen to scrub against the rubber eyepiece. solution I used was to place a washer between the camera and case screw mount to add just enough clearance so the lens closes without scrubbing the leather but still rubs the eyepiece. as long as im careful, it doesn't scrub there. overall, im absolutely impressed and would purchase again.

Camera case fits perfectly on my Nikon D5600 and besides giving more protection to the camera, the dark brown gave it a retro look which I personally like. There is no restriction to the battery compartment. Another reviewer complained that the case interfered with the grip of the camera, but I found it just the opposite, I felt like it was more secure in my hands. Added bonus- the pictures and description of the strap looked like it was a small strap but I was pleasantly surprised it was much larger and more durable than I thought it would b. Price was awesome.

Did not fit my d3100. So if you have one, don’t buy it. But the material did look and feel. durable.

I have used several leather half-cases on 35mm film cameras, and always liked them. Part of the issue I have with this case has more to do with digital camera layouts than the case itself. There are so many buttons all over the camera that it’s difficult to cover much without interfering with its functionality. That said, what IS covered, isn’t covered well.One aspect of the Nikon D5600 that I particularly like is the deep right grip, and this case cuts that corner & effectively removes that nice, deep grip. Also, while the battery access flap is a good idea, it barely works.I probably won’t use this case other than in a few instances. That said, the included shoulder strap is wonderful. I like a slightly thinner strap than the stock Nikon straps, and this one is very nice looking as well.

Bought for the wifes camera. Fit is perfect. Gives the camera a great feel in hand. Adds a little bit more to hold in to, leather is soft, she loves it.

Others reviews say this case fits badly. It fits my wife's Nikon d5600 perfectly and gives it a retro look

Good fit

This would be perfect except that the manufacturer decided not to make it a true-fit. In the groove where a right-hander would place their hand to take a pic, is a large gap between the leather case and camera. Please see pictures... I’m defintely disappointed with this issue as well as the strap which is a bit narrow.
