Well made and works well with Olives
I am pleased with this cherry pitter - it costs a little more than it should but it is robust and well made. I use it every day to pit olives which it does easily with practice. There is definitely a knack to it. With the olive stem-end down and aligned exactly under the metal skewer the pit slides out without minimal effort. Even a few millimeters off and it takes two hands to force it out. The tool is easy to wash. Do be careful of the little grey lever sticking out of the back, don't push-it, pull-it when the handles are squeezed together and they stay together for storage. Nice.

Works on damsons
This is fantastic! I bought this for damsons, not cherries. It doesn’t remove the pips 100% of the time, probably about 75%. When the stone hasn’t been removed it is easy to get out after the stoner has had a go at it. Damsons are delicious but fiddly. In previous years I’ve cut the stones out - takes forever. I’ve counted the damsons into a pan and counted stones out - again takes forever. This device is a game changer. One or two stones sneaked through - I need to be more careful. One thing that could be improved is that there is a removable clear plastic holding device. This has a tendency to occasionally fall off while you are using the stoner.

The Gadget You Didn't Know You Needed
To be honest, I didn’t even know a cherry picker was a thing. It's one of those bizarre browsing discoveries that makes you wonder, "How did I survive without this?" Okay, maybe that’s a bit dramatic, but seriously, it’s a nifty little gadget. Imagine munching on cherries without the unsightly spitting of pits—pure elegance! This handy tool keeps things mess-free, is a breeze to clean, and turns you into a cherry-pitting pro. The only downside? It might throw a fit with those beefy king cherries. So, stick to the regular-sized ones unless you want a cherry massacre. In short, if you love cherries but hate playing the pit-spitting game, this cherry picker is a must-have. It’s a small price to pay for an upgraded snacking (or baking) experience.

It works well and is very quick.
Bought for a very specific purpose, which is pitting cherry plums. It does a really good job with these tiny plums but wouldn’t cope with anything bigger. Occasionally it will push through and miss the stone (I’m doing hundreds at a go and sometimes don’t line one up right) but that’s user error. Much, much quicker than halving the fruit and pulling the stone. Although most of it is plastic, it’s plenty strong enough and feels like it will last many seasons.

Not for olives!
Great for cherries but absolutely not suitable for olives despite saying so in the listing.

Blooming brilliant!
I make small batch artisan preserves. I’ve tried a number of ways to pit kilos of cherries over the last few years. I first tried a straw over a bottle, I tried with a knife, I tried with a number of cheap cherry pitters. Finally I gave in and bought the good grips pitter. What a revelation! It’s such an amazing piece of kit, it pits cherries of all sizes with ease. It makes so little mess I can do it over a bowl on the couch whilst watching tv. The cherries are left whole, just a small hole through the middle. I’m not one to write reviews but this is utterly life changing and now means I can offer my customers Cherry and Amaretto preserve again, I’ve avoided it before now! If all Good Grips tools are as good as this, I’m off to buy them all!

Got this to pack cherries into my toddler's snack box. It works perfectly and the sense of satisfaction is great.
