The secret to understanding how to operate this unit is in the feet! No, really!
OK, so 5 stars says "This thing is great, wonderful and..." but for me, it is. Yes, if it weren't for other reviewers here at AMAZON I might not be so enthusiastic (more on that later), but after using it for a few days, I am actually ordering another one for my Win 8 touchscreen laptop. Looks like a snap to transport as it is almost flat not think at all. I had been using a Microsoft Trackball Explorer since they were announced, loved it from the first use and wore out several over the years. I even bought a couple extra when I heard they were being discontinued. Alas, they too have worn out and become a little problematic. Some failed because the supports for the trackball no longer separated the ball from the "cavity" (really common and repairable for the Tim Allens among us), others had scroll wheel or button issues. They are all sitting here waiting for my inner Tim Allen. to come out and fix them....You can still pay "stupid" money for a new one someone is selling (l saw one for $650!), or slightly off-kilter money for a "rebuilt" used one (about twice or three times the original new price), but I understand that is a stopgap measure. Adapt or perish I say, so forward into the mist I go! I tried a different brand "scrolling trackball" that you operated the cursor with your fingers, not your thumb. It is usable but not nearly what I was used to. One day, using my laptop and the trackpad it had in it, it occurred to me that I had adapted to the trackpad there pretty well, so maybe something like that for the desktop would work. After reading reviews and "looking at" the three different offerings I could find (Dell, Lenovo and Logitech) online, I bought a Logitech T650 wireless Touchpad from dear old Amazon. If it didn't work well I wanted the customer service of Amazon there to help me! I was not sure how it would work for me, and I had to learn the proper way to scroll (it seems the opposite of a wheel somehow, but it's exactly like a touchscreen), and to keep my hand positioned "over it" and not always tap the pad in the bottom area. Now I am feeling comfortable with it, I could not figure out how to select text though and it was making me question the decision. Sometimes the click and hold I was trying worked but many times it didn't. That's when a review here revealed that the rubber feet on the bottom two corners were actually "push button" switches (and that feeling of a switch I had experienced a couple of times wasn't my imagination). A light went on in my head and now the select, copy drag and the context menu functions all work terrific. I just needed to know what was needed. While you can tap in the main area for a single click, it appears that the bottom corners are for the right click and click and hold. And there is a mechanical switch that you can feel there! Use your thumb to depress it (or your pinkie finger for a right click) and if dragging or selecting, swipe you index finger across the surface! Anyone can do it if they aspire to! Now I am a happy camper! I would have given the review a credit here but I can't locate his review. I did give him the +1 treatment at the review when I read it, and several other reviewers have discovered this feature and posted about it, but his review made me flip the touchpad over and click the rubber pad to see it happen. Sometimes it takes that for me to grasp things..... I noticed many reviews decried the effort required to use this device, and I understand that. It is new, different and not as easy to go to as the mouse or trackball design you've used for a long time. And not understanding how it worked, or more precisely, thinking incorrectly about how it worked, made common functions a chore. I kept the "other" trackball here and plugged in (you can do that) as a security blanket, but I seldom go for it after a couple weeks of adapting to the touchpad. AND after learning the secret of the feet!

Very nice touchpad
I am really happy with this trackpad. It has some minor issues that I hope will be addressed in software. But it's very sensitive, performs well and feels great on the fingers. Gestures are pretty good, though not great. And honestly it may be just me getting used to using a trackpad. I've used a mouse for the last two decades straight. I've used this trackpad for the last couple weeks at home on my recent HP Envy tower w/ Windows 10 and at work on a HP laptop w/ Windows 7 and Linux VMs. Pros: * Responsive and sensitive. Basic gestures are great. More advanced ones are a bit hit-and-miss. But I'm also not very good at gestures. * The USB dongle is as simple as it gets for pairing. Plug it in and it works. Nothing to do but use it. * Moves between different computers without the slightest hitch. * Battery life is good even for all-day use. Lasts longer than a week, which is fine because I just plug it into USB to charge over the weekend. * Nice Logitech quality, rivals the Apple trackpad. Cons: * Occasionally doesn't register input - SPECIFICALLY when changing to a new window and trying to scroll within it. I really hope this is addressed in software. I have to move the arrow out of the window and register a touch, the back into the window and touch once for it to finally gain focus. * Seems like the software and drivers are dependent on what application you are using, rather than being part of the OS. Performance in some applications is different or not as good, especially when scrolling. * Not very high resolution. I wish it moved on the screen with smaller steps. This makes it frustrating to grab thin borders to re-size windows or column headers. * Frequently registers movement when I lift my finger off of the touchpad to make a touch, which results in the arrow moving an inch on the screen right before the touch and I "click" the wrong thing.

Good product if you hate clicking mouses, compatible with Windows 7. Battery really lasts after a full charge. Go ahead and buy if you have RSI from clicking mouses. Update ====== I bought this product in Feb 2016 for around 5,000 bucks from amazon.in. Current price (on 1/10/2016) of 11,300 rupees is outrageous!!! Come on guys, give us customers a break!! Shame on you Logitech/amazon sellers.

I did not yet receive this pad, but I have used other Logitech touch-pads. They do work very well. I was strongly recommended this pad. The older one I have is a bit smaller. The bigger one should be easier for me. This pad is very well worth having. It can also be used along side of a mouse. This way you get the best of both ways of working as you require them. I found I mostly use the pad over the mouse.

This is the rolls royce of touchpads. Wireless, responsive, accurate. Shame they are so rare now.

I just brought one yesterday and I'm loving it. So easy to use and navigate through the computer. I'm using it on Windows 8.1 and it makes it much easier to use.

Great! Loveit! 1 issue though. the install directions don't work as there is a broken link on Logitech's site and I couldn't get the driver. The only way I could get it to install was by using my existing Unified controller software, since I had previously been using another Logitech Unified device.
