I fear no man… but this curry paste? Respect
Just moved into a super authentic loft in a “gritty” up-and-coming neighborhood (translation: I saw a guy juggling fire next to a boarded-up Quiznos and thought, this place has soul). I’m originally from Portland—grew up on kombucha and regret—so I naturally needed something that could match my ethically-sourced spice expectations.Enter: Thai Kitchen Green Curry Paste, 35 glorious ounces of Southeast Asian legitimacy I can spoon into my hydroponic bok choy without fear of violating my intermittent keto-cycling-raw protocol. It’s vegan, it’s spicy, it’s industrial-sized—which honestly pairs great with my personality. One tablespoon and suddenly my tiny house smells like a Bangkok night market, minus the noise and with more reclaimed wood accents. My dinner guests (usually named things like River, Moss, or DJ Lich Enthusiast) were blown away. “Is this authentic?” they asked. I responded, “I don’t believe in authenticity. Only in intention.”I now use it for everything—soups, eggs, marinades, emotional support. It’s got that perfect balance of heat, flavor, and colonial guilt. Sometimes I just open the tub and inhale while journaling about my spiritual debt to Thailand.Five stars. Would curry again. And I’ve already suggested it to my food co-op Slack.P.S. Thinking of opening a “Green Curry & Cold Brew” pop-up out of my Sprinter van. LMK.

Too much quantity. It got moldy before I could use it all!
It is a good brand and I like it.in hindsight, I now know I should have froze in very small quantities and took it out as needed. I did not know that it would mold up like that quite quickly once opened. The small jars of this brand are quite expensive so this was a great deal but not if you can’t use it all quickly before it goes bad. Does the solution is freeze it in small quantities

Excellent for sauces, soups and stir-fries
We love this curry paste, very versatile, long shelf life and extremely flavorful. We always have it on hand in our kitchen and comes in handy for sauces, soups, and stir-fries. we are a vegetarian kitchen always looking for new flavors to explore and this is one of our favorite mixture of spices.

It's a curry base and you make of it what you want
Pro's- LOW Sodium, the only curry paste I've found that isn't salty- Great ingredients list, no preservatives just the traditional green curry ingredients *already pounded* into a paste- Fresh taste and smell- Good price per serviing! Not Really a Con- Soybean oil. I'm not concerned about soybean oil, it must be a small amount because the calories per tsp is 5.If you've ever made your own curry paste you know that it takes a lot of time to pound the ingredients into a paste. Lime peels and lemongrass are tough and using a food processor doesn't produce the same results as mortar and pestle. Thai Kitchen takes the hard work out of making curries by creating the base paste for you.I made the mistake of just adding coconut milk to it...and that's not bad...but to really make a delicious curry use this paste as a *base* and them customize it to your tastes. You will probably want to add some thai chili's, fish sauce, sugar, kaffir leaves and maybe even some salt.Whatever your preference it's easy to use create the flavor you want with this paste!

like the taste and packaging feels less wasteful than small glass jars
i can't judge the authenticity of the flavor, but can say that when i make it correctly it tastes like the green curry i've had in thai restaurants. i did have to learn to measure the amount instead of just guessing - i wasn't using enough. and the flavor was weak, but the right amount makes a delicious curry when mixed with coconut milk - great base for adding vegetables, protein and rice/noodles. i wish they would figure out better packaging than the large plastic bag, but still feel that it's environmentally better than the individual use glass jars. bottom line: makes a delicious curry dish.

Worst Thai Kitchen Prooduct
This is not the product that Thai Kitchen has in it's 4oz jars - the ingredients are much different based in soybean oil - it's packaged in a plastic bag inside a plastic tub with a loose lid - mine showed up with the bag outside the tub and leaking all over the shipping box - this stuff looks & smells inedible. This is a non-returnable product - don't buy it just throw away - bad product inside bad packaging.

The plastic bag workd great.
I love this stuff and have put it in other stir fry for a little zest. The plastic bag is perfect for squirting what you need (with a corner cut off) into whatever you are measuring or directly into the pan.
