Do these give off heat?

They definitely give off heat, more than their LED counterparts, as these are traditional halogen light bulbs.

is the bulb dimmable pin bulb,length of pin 5/16, distance bwetween pins 5/16

5/16" pin distance is about 8mm so I think that's the right match. The pin length appears to be about 5/16" as well but sorry we don't have the exact measurement but our product photo shows the pin length is about the same as the pin distance. These halogen G8 bulbs are always dimmable if you use the traditional dimmers that can work with halogen. Please note a common misconception is dimmable vs. 3-way bulb. Dimmable is not always the same as 3-way bulb where you can set at different light levels. Depending on the fixture, this may or may not work. You need to know if you need a regular dimmable bulb or a 3-way bulb for your fixture.

My current landscap light bulb looks exactly like this product G8. The description says landscape, but is this considered low voltage?

This is most likely not the right match. Please check out halogen g4 20w instead. G4 is 12V so most likely the low voltage version you are looking for. Match the pin distance too. G4 is 4mm apart. G8 is 8mm apart. Please definitely not go by the look and application alone.

My Simba G8 Halogen pin base bulbs for my under cabinet lighting are burning out---what is happening?

It is my understanding that it is very important when installing these very hot halogen bulbs to NOT get any fingerprints on them. That can cause hotspots and shorten life. I handle mine with a piece of toilet paper... Hope this helps!
