Good for windowless bathrooms
Helpful in extra rooms that are used infrequently. Also perfect in windowless bathrooms. We have gotten several of these and one kapooted after maybe six months, but the rest are all going strong. Extremely useful and easy to use. The light does indicate when it needs to be emptied. When it's still okay it is green and when it needs changed it turns amber. They make a little bit of noise like a small desk fan. No odors. None of the ones we have has ever proved electrically hazardous. All have operated safely. The frequency of emptying depends on the size and humidity level of the room it is in. It contains the water well and by design cannot leak as long as all the pieces are intact. It will turn off when it is full, but the indicator light will remain on. The unit doesn't really get warm when running so heat isn't an issue with these. Doesn't take up much space so it can easily sit on top of a cabinet, counter or shelf.

performed ok for a month then stopped working altogether
i live in hawaii, and was using this for a small windowless room (11x9ft) where i store things and do hobby projects. for the first few weeks i had this, it did an ok job collecting water. nothing too great. the humidity gauge on the wall didn't change significantly but it was still ok. i'd empty the collection tank maybe every 4 or 5 days. then a while went by before i realized i hadn't had to empty it in a long time. and mold began to grow in the collection tank! i emptied it and cleaned it out with uncooked rice and rubbing alcohol (pro tip for when you can't reach something with a brush or scrubber) then put it back in. i checked everything electrical. the outlet is fine, the surge protector is fine, the AC adapter is fine, the plug in port is fine, the indicator light is on, yet i didn't see any water collection for weeks. i'm gonna call this broken. and of course, as with almost everything on amazon, it lasted just long enough to pass the return eligibility date, and now it's just sitting there on my desk, plugged in and useless. i finally decided to leave a review about it today. my advice would be to find something with a better record of reliability, because that's what i plan to do.

This Is A Workhorse!
I bought this over a year ago for my basement and it is a workhorse! My basement is humid and this little guy pulls a container of water out of the air everyday and would pull more if I remembered to empty it more often. For example, if I empty the container before leaving for work, it will be full (and automatically shuts off) when I return at the end of the day. So, if I had bought one twice the size, it might be still hard at work when I get home. The dehumidifier runs quietly (much more quietly than the blower fan I set up on a timer down there) and I could not tell you if uses a lot/little electricity. We have five rooms (only two have doors) in our basement and I am convinced this product is doing everything it was advertised to do but our environment is too large for it can handle. Our living space is very wide open and requires a much bigger dehumidifier but I believe this would be great for a smaller, fully enclosed room.

I'm Not Disappointed
I've had this for a few weeks now in the basement bathroom. It was working, but filling slowly, until I gave the dog a bath in that shower. To my surprise, this thing seemed to kick into another gear and was filling much more rapidly. It does a decent job, and just chugs along until it's full. I only wish it had a few settings, like low, medium and high. For the price though, it's been good.

Here for business!
The media could not be loaded. Bye-bye moisture! Not a paid review. Researched a lot looking for something reliable and space saving. I’ve used this product nonstop for months! Completely reliable. Very portable and easy to use. Light indicates when it’s full and automatically shuts. It’s a work horse—pulls tons of moisture out of the air. Doesn’t have complicated bells and whistles—just does what it’s supposed to do. The top pops off to clean the filter area. It’s very quiet. Doesn’t leak, easy to empty.

Realy works!
So I bought this and a digital room thermometer / humidity sensor. I pluged this in and the thermometer. Now I live in my 133 square foot camper and I have issues with condensation from the windows making puddles on countertops and such even with a kick but AC unit. The thermometer read 64 Fahrenheit @ 75% humidity. After that I put the thermometer on top of this dehumidifier where the vent is and it's reading the air output as 45% humidity @ 75°F. Awsome right? Then I pluged the thermometer back in the middle of the camper and it read an average of 55-60% humidity @ 64°F. I know 133 square feet is rather small and I know dehumidifiers really do work but I never expected it would work as well as I had hoped. It almost seemed unrealistic to expect this little thing to solve my condensation problems. I mean 1 and a half hours after plugging it in and all my campers windows are free of water droplets. Home labs is the best. I also own thier awsome mini dishwasher. I guess they really have a high standard. Defiantly recommend!
