Shimano Deore Rd-M5120 Rear Derailleur

My recumbent requires a long cage shifter due to its long & convoluted chain path. This is a perfect replacement for the Shimano Dura Ace RD-7700, and a perfect mare to Shimano SL-BS77 Dura Ace Double/Triple Bar End Shifters. Simple to install, and very smooth shifting.

I put this on my vintage GT mountain bike as part of an updated 1x drivetrain. Works great! It shifts perfectly with very easy set up. Don’t make the mistake I did… I first tried to pair it with a 11-48 cassette but quickly realized it wouldn’t work, looked closer at the description, and saw that it maxes out with a 46t gear. No big deal though. Got an appropriate cassette and it all came together perfectly.

Works great as long as you install the cable correctly. The end of the cable does a U-turn around the clamping screw. If you flip the cable around so that the U faces the wrong way it won't shift correctly.

Shifts really smoothly.I think it’s really good for the price.Easy to install and really clean for older bikes.

This thing exceeded my expectations. I was upgrading my mountain bike from a 3X9 to a 2X11. The clutch feature is awesome. I have not had a single chain slap or chain disengagement from the chain rings. It keeps good tension on the chain to prevent both of those situations. However,I did have to adjust the clutch out of the box, because it was set too tight from the manufacturer. Once I learned how to do it it was fairly simple. You can find out how to do it on YouTube. Like I said, though this is far exceeded my expectations: it shifts cleanly, and the clutch feature (I didn’t even know was a thing) was a nice surprise.

It seems like it was easier to install than previous derailleurs I've had. It just set right into place. The only adjustment is the high/ low screws that actually wrap how tall the cage gets around the sprockets. Otherwise the shifter seems to hold it over the range of gears nicely, really only need to adjust the tensioner. A rather easy install as compared.

I bought this as part of an upgrade frenzy on my 1x7 Schwinn Boundary. The original rear hub failed, so needed a new wheelset... which meant I could upgrade to a cassette... which meant I needed a new derailleur... you get the idea. I got this 10s Deore derailleur, a 10s Deore cassette (11-46t) and a 10s Deore shifter. Everything works great together, super fast and smooth shifts, no slips over the 20 miles I have put on it so far... however the derailleur doesn't hang low enough to engage the 2 biggest sprockets. Bought a Wolf Tooth roadlink which should solve the issue, but beware the frame of your bike could necessitate a similar solution. Other than that, highly recommend.

Easy to install , clutch is a useful feature. When set up properly the chain stays where it belongs at all times .

Ottimo deragliatore preciso e silenzioso

Cooles Schaltwerk. Funktioniert sehr gut mit dem Deore-Schalthebel. Ich benutze es in einem 2x10-Antrieb an einem HT MTB 27,5-Zoll-Bike. Kassette 11-42, Kurbel 26-36.

Alles super geklappt, sehr guter Verkäufer.
