Squirrel resistant and has survived some bear attacks
We have had one of these for about 2 years and it does keep squirrels out. About 17 years ago we moved to an area with a significant black bear population and at least once a year the bears pull the feeder down and pry it open. they do damage it but I have been able to bend things back into shape. I bought another as a spare since I fear that there will come a time that the damage will be beyond repairable. It appears that the build quality has remained consistent to what the first one was.

Finally a decent bird feeder
This thing is great. No more squirrel issues. I'd definately buy it again, but the way it's built, I probably won't have to.

Best squirrel proof feeder. Great quality!
Truly the absolute best bird feeder you can buy.Very good quality. Strong, well built and sturdy. An it really is squirrel proof. We have purchased a few over the years as we always leave the feeder behind when we sell our home. We live in Florida and our birds are very happy.

Most squirrels can't navigate this thing.
Try not to put a baffle under the support pole--it just becomes a better perch for squirrels. This is a wonderful feeder because it holds a lot of seed and holds up pretty well under the elements. I had to replace my last one due to the fact that the plexiglass window on one side shattered from being out in the elements for so long.

Strong enough for my devil racoon.
I have had some history with this feeder. Must notable a caddyshack duel with 1 of 5 local racoons. Among other things this enterprising raccon has climbed past every barrier I have put in place to break branches and bring the feeder to a crash several times from 5 feet. I might say, with little damage. This racoon would spend hours in the middle of the night playing on the top of the feeder. The devil racoon was finally havahart captured and moved.I have modified the feeder to hold a trash can lid below it as a seed catcher and dozens of extra birds. Picture attached.I gave it 5 stars but have some suggestions for upgrade.I decided I should have bought the one sided feeder but duct tape closed that side and most of my active side off just fine. It would be nice if there were a mechanism to open and close each feeding hole independently. I had so many birds i felt the need to reduce their access.A hole in the pole screw mount able to accept a caribeaner. This would allow double duty for accessories such as my hanging seed catcher. Lots of seeds on the ground attract raccons, squirrels and vermin. Seeds on the catcher attract more birds.Add an optional seed catcher such as the one I made. I used heavy chain that would hold an obnoxious racoon and heavy enough to resist heavy winds. Holes in the catcher to allow rain runoff. The heavy wire hangers need to be spread wide enough that the lid doesn't have to be forced through it for refilling. Irritating but I did manage to bend them myself.Make the attaching angle just a tad tighter like a u. My racoon once managed to separate feeder from hanger. Again, pliers did the trick for me.Put a ring or some other attachment point on each side for string to prevent the feeder from rotating when on the hanger.Would add that I squirrel proofed my tree so squirrels never get to my feeder to test that.Have seen this feeder hurt birds that get their wings or legs caught.Small birds have found their way in. Some died, some got out. Not sure this is preventable. Not related to heat as some have thought.

This feeder is Good
Solid construction and easy to hang. by the metal bar. However, when the ground thaws in the spring I am going to use the pole mount by seating it in the PVC pipe supplied supplied. I also have a dome with a hook that I placed over the feeder and it is fun to watch the squirrels keep sliding off. The weight ajustments on the feeding bars deters cowbirds and other large birds that just push the feed on the ground.
