I was a bit nervous ordering this product - The supplier said it would fit my make of Garbage Disposal, they were right. It works great and wish I had bought a replacement years ago.

So rubber flappy thing at the top of the garbage disposal/bottom of the sink was missing when our last set of tenants moved out of the rental house (argh). That's never happened before, usually tenants only lose the rubber stopper plug so the sink can be filled (also argh, those aren't always easy to find). We have an older GE disposal installed, and a new set of tenants were less than a week away from moving in.No local source had the right size of rubber flappy guard in stock so I measured carefully, verified what make/model disposal we had and ordered this item. Sadly the days of 2-day Amazon Prime are gone but thankfully the piece showed up in time... absolutely perfect fit. I made sure the drain area was clean, stuck the new rubber flappy thing down the hole, and... well, that was that– good as new. Could not have been easier. NO TOOLS required for installation on my model: *UNPLUG* the machine for safety, stick it in the hole, make sure is it seated well, done.I am very happy with the quality of the part (nice, sturdy, pliable rubber) and completely satisfied with the fit. I would have purchased a genuine OEM part from the manufacturer if I could have obtained it in time, but that wasn't possible. Not mad ! This part appears just as good in all regards and not only saved me some money, but saved me the embarrassment of moving tenants in with a goofy appliance.If you need one of these, definitely be certain of your measurements and machine type/make/model. Also be safe: UNPLUG the thing when working on it. I did not need to stick my hand or anything else down the hole into the nasty, but still... unplug the thing anyway. Aside from that, I hope you're as happy with this part as I am: it was a perfect match.

The flaps on this are so rigid and so densely formed that no food or debris of any size or mass can get through - the only way is to push it through with your hand or to flip it upside down. Also, whenever we turn on the disposal, the splashing from underneath will dislodge it to an angle which we then have to push back down to lay flat. Overall, a really poorly designed and made product. Can't believe something so simple could be so bad that I have to take this time to review as a warning to everyone else.
