This pool pump has so far passed my expectations.
My husband and I replaced our old Hayward pump that died after replacing the centurion motor 3 yrs ago. We took a chance on this XtremepowerUS pump that had good reviews & the price was awesome. We first purchased the pump that was 2hp with a 240 voltage & we had to send it back for a refund because it overheated & even the water in basket was hot. Something told me to look at my old pump to see what the voltage & HP was it was 1.0 hp & 230/115 voltage. I repurchased the same pump with a 1.5 hp & 230 voltage we installed it a week ago, pressure is strong & it prime in seconds so far so good & I was also able to work my Polaris pool cleaner with no problem. So far I’m impressed & happy with my purchase & the price is amazing. The key is to replace with the same voltage & close to the same HP the only reason I didn’t purchase the 1.0 hp is that pump states it only works on spas & not inground pools.

Great choice!
This could not have easier to install. I know nothing about electricity or would ever attempt to play with it. This pump had 2 plug-in wires and one green ground wire. It has 2 speeds and is so quiet you can't hear it running when it's on low. High speed makes a slighting louder noise. Nothing like my old pump, though. What an awesome buy too. I had a quote of $1,100. from my pool company to replace the old pump/motor. I couldn't be happier.

Pump only lasted 3 months.
I bought this because it was cheap. Pump was easy to install. Was quiet at first, then got a little louder but tolerable. Motor always ran hot to touch. After three months it seized up and also burned out my timer when it happened. I never ran it on the timer. I bought the extended warranty, but decided to rebuild my Pentair Superflo instead, a much better pump that the DIYer can rebuild pump or motor on. Also, Pentair replacement motors are readily available for around $300 price point.

Good little workhorse
Works as advertised! This pump is substantially shorter than the original that it replaced, so I had to set it up appropriately 3" to meet the original inlet tube. My original 1.5" fittings threaded right in, only needed to adjust the length of the outlet pipe to the filter and it was off and running! Original wiring harness transferred right over, but ground lug really deserves a solderless (crimp) "eye" terminal. Hi/Lo speed substantial flow difference noted on the gauge, perhaps 50%. I selected this due to the simple wiring as I am designing a custom controller for it to match flow needed for solar heating. Flow rate in excess of 30GPM measured on Hi setting, but did not check peak as solar is rated for only 20GPM. Basket inlet may be a little more difficult to open than I would prefer as it requires a palm strike to break the tension and I don't like jolting the various union gasket fitting doing that. This might be improved when bolted down in final position. Base/Footing is plastic instead of cast metal though which probably lends to the low price. Absolutely pleased with what I received for such a low price point!

XtremepowerUS 1.5HP Inground Pool Pump 5280GPH
I ordered, then read the reviews. Was wondering. What I experienced.Pump arrived on time. Perfect, cause my old one went and I had a party the next day. The PVC couplings for the pump were in the box with the 'O' rings. It hooked up quick. The pictures in the manual were enough to be able to wire the pump. But I know 220 and this is not my first rodeo with wiring. But, I had been warned. The pictures 'could' be better. Pump has been running for 7 days and the suction is great. My pump primes in 22 seconds every time. Pressure is at 18.Only set back was the Hi/Lo switch broke and was not working. I bypassed the switch. I contacted the seller and a new switch was in the mail in 3 days. Will replace. BUT, so far I am happy. Esp about the pump prime when I start it. Before my old impeller took MINUTES to prime and get going.UPDATE:Just received my switch. Well I asked for a switch. Did not want to be too greedy. They sent me a new switch and the whole back cover the switch is housed in. WOW. Even sent me the two screws that hold the housing in-place. I call this good customer service. BTW, pump is still going STRONG!!! Good buy!

Please do not purchase this China junk
Yes, there's not must noise, the suction is good and it's easy to install, but you'll only get one plus year before it starts to shut down and not turn on every time it's running and you turn it off. While it was running yesterday morning, I turned it off to clean the filters 24 hours later and still it will not turn back on. I purchase in September 2022, today is June 2024 and I've had nothing but problems since 2023. I never give bad reviews, but enough is enough.

Worked As Advertised
This pump was a last-minute replacement for a Hayward pump that died after 7 years. We needed a pump quickly to finish out the swim season and this one was the only one available on short notice. I swapped it out in less than 30 minutes and had the pool water clear by the next day. It continued to run fine for the next month until I closed the pool for the season. I can't say how long it will last, but for the price and for the quick delivery It can't be beat. I plan to continue running it next Spring and for as long as it lasts. I will note that the pump parts are lighter weight plastic than the Hayward and there is more noise (cheaper bearings??), but for the price it's a winner.

May Need to Change Pump brands
We purchased and installed this pool pump on September 24, 2024, just before we closed our pool for the winter. We opened the pool on April 28, 2025 so this pump has literally run for about two weeks at this point. The pump sounds as if it has already got a bearing going out. I have emailed the company to see what recourse we have.
