Great electrolyte replacement
Halfway through my first container of Heed (Melon), I am absolutely convinced this is much better than any of the gatorades, powerades, etc. I used to drink a lot of them cycling. Since using the Heed, I have much better energy throughout 2+ hour rides, and have a better recovery than using the other products. I have sinced started using some other Hammer products. If you are someone that is searching for great "flavor" in a nutrition drink, this may not be for you. It does not taste bad to me by no means and it is a very effective electrolyte replacement. Like others have said, this delivers clean energy. Many of my bike rides have taken place during temps well into the nineties and water and electrolytes are very important. I highly recommend and will be ordering a replacement bucket soon.

Works Exceptionally Well
After searching and trying for a sports/electrolyte drink that works best with me, I finally settled on Heed after trying almost all of them. It works exactly as advertised by Hammer products. I find that, perhaps most importantly, the lactate buffers work. muscle burn, and cramps just don't occur any longer when using Heed and I ride hard. I also like the fact that it is a complex carb. and not just a simple sugar.I find the flavors to be very light, not obnoxious, and are a non-issue with all of them. It's true a very little bit of it doesn't dissolve but I just give the bottle a shake, take a drink then keep on biking. I also found that recovery is MUCH quicker and better. I'm an endurance long time / long mileage rider and this is the drink I'm staying with. Highly recommended.

it's a matter of taste
I ordered the lemon-lime flavor. I was expecting something with a citrus flavor. Instead, the flavor was sweet and tasted like a pineapple Dum Dum lollipop. Not what I expected and not a flavor I like at all.

Disgusting!!!
This is the first review I have ever written, and I am only writing this to tell everyone how gross this stuff is. I figured I would give this a shot as I am in the middle of training for a marathon. I purchased the Orange flavor, and was excited to give it a try. First thing I noticed was it really didn't mix very well with water. There was quite a bit of sediment floating around and powder at the bottom of my shaker. I then took a sip, and it is disgusting! It only has a slight flavor to it, which makes it even worse. Finally, it makes my stomach feel terrible after drinking it.I have tried to drink this stuff multiple times, hoping it will get better. But, its safe to say it's going in my trash can.

Stamina Supporting, All Natural, and Not Too Sweet
I was looking for a sports drink to help during Insanity: The Ultimate Cardio Workout and Fitness DVD Program and P90X Extreme Home Fitness Workout Program - 13 DVDs, Nutrition Guide, Exercise Planner (especially Plyo). Most sports drinks are too sweet, full of junk, and loaded with sugar.Hammer HEED has a nearly cultlike following, especially amongst hardcore bicyclists, and it's easy to see why once you try it. It's all natural with sugar substitutes, so you're not drinking junk, which always seemed counterproductive to me considering you're generally drinking these products while trying to stay healthy. It really does help with your stamina - it's not going to make you able to run a marathon out of nowhere, of course, it's not magic, but it definitely helped me last longer before bonking in more intense workouts. And best of all, the flavor is light, so you're not drinking something heavy that weighs your stomach down while you're trying to work out.I am definitely going to keep a supply of this in the cabinet going forward.

Like other Hammer products, it works
HEED is an electrolyte replacement drink, in the same category as Gatorade and Powerade. However, HEED uses mainly complex carbs, rather than simple sugars like most competitive products. I find this makes it easy to digest with no stomach issues. It also has a more complete electrolyte profile than many competitive products, which are heavy on sodium and have little to none of the other electrolytes. The first several times I used HEED I did not like the taste at all. Now that I am accustomed to it, I like it fine. So if you are used to sugary drinks, expect an adjustment period for the taste. It comes in several flavors. As with everything, try it in training. I think you'll find it is something you want to use for racing, too, if you race.

Hammer Should Be Embarrassed . . .
Hammer should be embarrassed to call this flavor Lemon-Lime. There is hardly even a hint of lemon or lime. As far as flavor is concerned, this stuff wouldn't beat out three day old dish water in a taste test. I've already gone back to Cytomax Cool Citrus.

had during marathon--disgusting, not effective
I ran my 7th marathon in which all that was available was HEED lemon. I almost gagged at the taste--yes, it's not sweet, which would have been fine if it had some kind of flavor but it just tastes like water with a peel of lemon--it did nothing to boost my energy or make me feel replenished of electrolytes. Give me back my gatorade or powerade!
