Poo-Pourri Natural Pourri Deodorant, Pits + Bits, All Day All Over, Lavender Sage 2 oz, White 2 Ounce

It's a shame I have to give this 3 stars because this is hands down the best deodorant I've ever used, and the only one that has worked long term. Other deodorants, even the expensive ones, work well for a couple weeks, then my body adjusts or something and BO comes back. I'm on my 4th tube of this stuff, and I love it, but holy cow the packaging is impossible. It's great that it is enviro friendly, but it's not user friendly. I cannot for the life of me on my last 3 tubes push the deodorant up to dispense more. I have tried cutting the sides down, shoving the end of a brush at the base to get more leverage, and the stick WILL. NOT. BUDGE. I'm having to cut all around the lip. This problem alone is forcing me to not buy this product again. Please change your packaging poo pourri!!!!!!!! You have gotten countless complaints I'm sure, so, fix it please!!

UPDATE 12/2022: I was walking through my local Target and found a comparable looking product from the brand Raw Sugar. It smells better, glides out of the tube easy, and appears to have similar ingredients. I have been using it for a few days and it has all the same great qualities of the Pit Pourri product with the additional pros of easy use and better smell. There's also no weird film to pick off the top like Pit Pourri has, and I can purchase it off the shelf for a few bucks less. I am 100% converting to the other product, sorry Pit Pourri.Original Review 05/2022: This stuff is the best deodorant I've ever used. Not only does it prevent me from stinking, even in the sweatiest of situations, it also makes my skin feel great. I've gotten a rash at some point or another from literally everything else I've ever put on my pits. No rash from this!Update 10/2022: still works great and I'm only about halfway through the tube in 5 months time. I have considered changing brands *only* bc the packaging is so bad. But I'm hanging in there bc the deodorant is that good. It's nearly impossible to push the product up, and the tube is a mess with product and it makes it gross to handle. Before the first use you also have to pick the weird thick solid layer off the top to get to softer product that will actually apply to your skin. I did discover a trick to getting more product out though: (remove the cap before either step, doesn't seem to matter much)Step one: lay the tube on its side, and roll it on a hard surface while putting pressure on it with your hand. This kind of breaks the product from sticking to the insides of the container.Step two: place a prescription bottle upside down on a hard surface, and press the bottom of the stick into it to get even pressure across the bottom of the deodorant stick. Push down to get the product to come up. (Don't use something too narrow, like the handle of a brush, bc you WILL bust through the bottom of the package. A small sized pill bottle seems to fit best of what I have tried.)I have to do this about once a week or every other week, and like I said I've made it through about half the product in 5 months. Deodorant shouldn't require hacks, but here we are. What a time to be alive!

I've used the actual deodorant the best I can for a few days now and it works pretty well. Scent is decent, seems to keep my sweat not too bad and I'm a pretty sweaty person, so that's something.But trying to even get to the product was extremely confusing. There are no instructions for how to move the deodorant stick up to the top of the cardboard tube so it's usable. At the bottom it just says "Push it real good" which is a cute pop culture reference and not useful instructions when you're pushing and nothing is happening. So I tried twisting things, I got a thin knife to see if something was stuck, I put it upside down on a counter and pushed with both thumbs as hard as I could. Nothing. Not a budge.So I let it sit for a couple of days and then I was like, well, this would be dumb to waste it. So I tried again. Still nothing. So I got a hammer. Bang. Bang. STILL NOTHING. But with the idea that this product was already ruined if I couldn't get it out and the worst that could happen was that it was also ruined, I really went to town on it. I've driven nails into masonry that were easier than this thing. But it started to budge! And then the bottom packaging totally came apart. The little flat thing came off, the triangle underneath came loose. So I took them out.And THEN. Finally. I was able to stick the blunt end of a knife in there and push the whole stick up so it was usable.Usable is relative though. The round shape isn't great for this. There was a sort of gummy film on top of the whole thing (normal? no clue) that I had to remove to get to anything that could be applied. So even now, the packaging is sort of a hindrance to the whole experience.I give the product 3 stars, but the packaging half a star.

It really does combat odor and perspiration, but that's sort of contrary in that it has a weird scent itself. It would be nice and convenient if packaging was different. The cardboard cylinder makes it hard to push that oatmeal textured product upwards to use.

The deodorant itself is absolutely wonderful! A little goes a long way, and it truly works and lasts! I still sweat with it, but it doesn’t smell. The smell of the deodorants take a little bit of time to get used to, but I don’t mind them once I do. I prefer the coconut so far. The packaging is a struggle and must be changed. Nearly impossible to push the deodorant up. I roll the tube in my hands to warm up the dispenser and use the top of a mousse bottle to try to push it up. Extremely difficult and ridiculous. I’d give this 5 stars as I swear by the actual product just not the faulty design of the poor packaging.
