Thought provoking
I love Dan Millman's books and have read them all. The way of the Peaceful Warrior is my all time favorite book and this is a continuation of that. It is a easy read and flows nice as expected from Dan. There is some very thought provoking statements in this book and I stepped away with new thoughts. I will admit though this is not nearly as packed full of information as Peaceful Warrior. I felt there was a lot of " fluff" to fill pages. Maybe because I read it in 3 days but the story felt rushed jumping from one place to the next with minimal lessons involved in each chapter. The lessons didn't kick in till the last maybe 5 chapters ? Like all of Dans books I will reread this a few times. Regardless of my opinions, I do suggest reading this. There are very thought provoking messages in there.

The Hidden School Delivers ... As Expected
The Hidden School, the final piece in the Peaceful Warrior saga, brings the teachings of Socrates and his own teachers together. It leaves you with clear guidance on how to walk the mystical path with practical feet, as my other teacher Angeles Arrien would commonly say. All of a sudden mystical teachings have practical applicability and universal truths can be used to live a meaningful life everyday.

A Way to Help you Remember What You've Always Known
Believe it or not, I went my whole life never hearing about Dan Millman until just this month. I heard his interview on "The School of Greatness" ep. 554; the one in which he spoke about this book and a host of other topics. I was so struck by his manner and what he had to say that I re-listened three times. I immediately got this book and was not disappointed! I was a bit surprised by the narrative and was not expecting it to be so "action packed." I found myself wondering how much of it he embellished and how much of it actually happened to him. I don't really have a clue about that and eventually decided that it doesn't matter. His example of following his inner "knower" and trusting his intuition caused me to deeply consider how I have learned to not trust my own; how we really are all taught to trust logic and reason exclusively. Strangely, this and many of the other ideas weaved throughout did not feel like anything particularly new to me. It was like remembering something that had been forgotten instead of learning something new.I highly recommend this book! I am off to read his first one now: The Way of the Peaceful Warrior.

It also happens to be a good read and a great story if you just want ...
Dan Millman weaves another story about his adventures designed to offer people insights into ways to get more out of their lives. Is it all a dream or a memory? It really does not matter because truth and inspiration are found in perceptions we choose to believe about the world. Thank you Dan for lighting the way for so many people. It also happens to be a good read and a great story if you just want to jump into an exciting adventure.

Revisiting an old friend
Having read the original book some years back, I was intrigued by this latest novel. I probably should have gone back to re read the Way of the Peaceful Warrior again before tackling the latest book. Still enjoyablle!

Love going on trips with Dan
The book was a great trip, thought provoking, making me wish I could sit and yak at him. Some things I agree with, some I don't but it's all great stuff. His meditation secret has helped me into deeper meditations, when i have the time, but would love to discuss his concepts for we won't always see eye to eye.

I've read a few of Dan Millman's books and this one definitely did not disappoint. It started out a little slow and I wasn't sure if I was going to enjoy it, but then you reach a point in the book and that all turns around. The life lessons Dan is able to impart on his readers in such a short space are phenomenal and it's almost like you don't even realize until you finish reading the book and are caught thinking about days later.

Inspitung series
I read the three books in a span of one week. The hidden school is a beautiful way to end the series as a reminder that life itself is a school if we choose to see it. After reading the hidden school I then went back to the last chapter of Way of the peaceful warrior to complete this well written journey of life, death and awakening.

Read it, It's 35 chapters of all and everything that you wouldn't suspect!
The Hidden SchoolMillman's work has a way of bringing something of the mystery of life, of real zest and enthusiasm into people's lives, my life anyhow. I said to myself at about 3/4's way through, that I already owed this book a review worthy of it. You feel you are journeying with him as you wander across the globe in search of….well, God knows what....you'll have to read it to find out, I guess.I would have nine-starred this book if I could. It is fair to say that I have waited awhile for this work and now that it has arrived, I'd be tempted to write that this is a legominism for the ages, and a real gift from the New World to individual and community; but I'm not qualified to make such claims; and if I did they'd be biased anyhow. Not least because after reading this work, I'm inspired to write something wonderful, to travel, work, take up yoga, martial arts, tai-ji… You name it! To borrow a phrase, it really has an overall, "life enhancing impact".There's a sense to of completing many journeys with the author, of the wildness and chaos of youth been refined just as the author; now in his 70s; has "refined" this work for decades, and this ethereal beauty shines through. The Hidden School is worth the wait.I am amazed at how he can write a book appealing to so many age groups and cultures, and yet generate those feelings in you that you are hearing the stories first-hand, on a one-to-one level, in a relaxed space while at times being mesmerized, shocked, thrilled, appalled, riveted, angered, energized, humbled, saddened, calmed, lightened, and ultimately gifted.I was worried that this book would be less than the others; really behind that I thought that it wouldn't "do it" for me…You don't be worried! This is a GREAT work, I enjoyed it immensely. What else can I write, I even look forward to rereading The Hidden School, in spite of having deliberately read it slowly and savored every page. I'm that satisfied with it that I would even go to a picture-house to watch a movie of it, should that eventuality ever arise in the future. This you might not believe - but parts of this book - left me stunned and lost for words.Read it! It's 35 chapters of all and everything that you wouldn't suspect. You won't regret it.Take care.

Just buy it!
Dan Millman at his best. I'm only half way through but felt the need to review this book. If you are even looking at this book I suspect you are looking forward to rediscovering those feelings and emotions you experienced when you were first introduced to the 'Peaceful Warrior' way. You won't be dissapointed as I feel like I've been transported back in time 25 years to my first encounter.Thank you Dan for your words of wisdom that have helped guide me through my life.......hold on? Is it Dan or Socrates? :)

Disappointing
I cannot fathom all the five star reviews, as though this writing is the most inspirational book, when it is not. I expected a lot of spiritual content, but it's about a man physically travelling, much of which is not necessarily interesting, and more like a book about anyone's travels. Ridiculously absurd in places. The spiritual content is interesting, but there is hardly any of it. If you want a book of profound spiritual revelations you will be disappointed. I love spiritual books but this is more of a physical journey with a few spiritual bits thrown in. Of course it's fine that some people have loved this, and we all love different things, but it was a massive let down for me, unlike his `The Laws of Spirit', which would have worked well had those revelations been incorporated into this book.

Excel ant book
This book makes you think about your life and those around you. No longer coincidences but synchronicity. I found it uplifting like many of Dans books look forward to reading others.
