My friend's daughter loved this as a gift

A really good set full of lots of crafty bits. Came in a nice little plastic storage box, smaller than I expected but it had everything in I expected, just packed well and securely.

Nice little set for beginners,good colour selection and accessories, instruction booklet could of been more detailed.kids just used it like modeling clay, used the oven to set the item's made as per instruction,one did break afterwards which was dissapointing,but think it's trial and error.Would buy again as good value set which comes in practical plastic box.

This set is fantastic for beginners and even the more adventurous. I got this for a sleepover and ended up have to buy another one for my other daughter. She made some amazing things with it, and it only takes a few minutes to harden in the oven.Colours mix together beautifully and using each colour separate is really easy as well. We made quite a bit of stuff, beads, keychains, runs, figures, all popped on a baking tray and put in the oven for about 10 mins, then left to cool and harden. Best thing is you can add to the hardened project and just put it back in the oven (also handy for any breaks!)

This is a good set of clays and tools with various jewellery accessories for the money, all housed in a clip-shut plastic box for storage.. The clay comes in a lovely array of colours too. As soon as the packet is opened, the clay is soft and pliable, ready for use. I hardly have to knead it at all, unlike many similar products which are hard out of the packet and need several minutes of kneading to get to a point where they ca be used. In that respect, they are very suitable for use by youngsters who would be unable to do the kneading required by other clays. However, this immediate pliability does render the clay a little sticky, especially if pinching thin for petals, for instance. On the other hand, the clay sticks to itself very easily and keeps its shape well. I doubt children would be making fine petals and the clay is perfect for more chunky use. The instructions say it can be microwaved, blow dried or even boiled to harden, depending on the size of the piece, but recommends oven baking at 120-130 degrees C or gas mark 1/2 for 15 minutes per 1/4" thickness. the instructions say to put the clay in the oven to pre-heat for 15 minutes and the bake 15-30 minutes. I did this with the rose shown allowing 30 minutes after preheating and it took a total of 2 hours and the petals were still a bit soft. I keep putting it back in the oven when it is cooling after being used to dry it out further. Given the price of energy, it could turn out to be expensive hobby! However, a very giftable set and very suitable for children, I would say.
