Knit One Knit All

Great knitting book. Good patterns, easy to understand.

Okay, I've been a fan of Elizabeth Zimmerman's for years. BUT! in my humble opinion, she's the quintessential cross between an engineer and a knitter. This book of undiscovered gems is a pure delight ~ enough interesting structure and technique to keep my knitting mind intrigued, but comfortable and wonderfully wearable garments that will be reached for again and again. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves to knit, and would enjoy a peek into a mind that has reached far beyond the usual pattern design. There are no repeats here, if like me, you have a library of EZ books. All new, all interesting, all garter stitch. I can hardly wait to get knitting.

If you are just beginning to knit this is a great book to start with - I am an intermediate knitter and I found several very nice patterns and I am pleased to own the book. A beginner will gain confidence and speed using this book. I've made several brimmed hats now and people are asking for more. It is an easy pattern and makes a cute hat!!

I have all of Elizabeth Zimmerman and Meg Swansen's works. I found Zimmerman's works in the mid 90s when I was coming back to knitting after a decade of doing other crafts and have been using her books ever since. I found the Schoolhouse Press single copy patterns around then, and have done some things are similar to some of these designs using those, but I am an advanced knitter and not afraid to cast on and work at it until I "get" it. From experience teaching, I also know that the three dimensional construction techniques that distinguish Zimmerman's brilliance are not always apparent to everyone. Meg Swansen's genius has been to expand on the "blind follower", as her mom would have put it, form of directions for her mom's work, and this book is an excellent example of sometimes complex work that has been made more accessible by careful re-writing and writing of detailed directions. I have several I can't wait to get to!

If you like Elizabeth Zimmerman patterns, this is the book for you.

the opinionated knitter was a disappointment as I was looking for a book of that name, not the newsletters - but that mayhave been my fault as I did not investigate your promotion well enough. Knit One Knit All is an excellent book and I'm pleased to add it to my library. BUT I have a problem - you sent the books, in two separate parcels, but there was no paperwork. You just accepted the money, but I have no idea on how much packaging and handling or postage or exchange rates were included in the final price, which seems exhorbitant when I do not know the details. thankyou, Cynthia Nicklin

If you like Garter Stitch then you'll love this book. It takes the simple stitch in many directions. Literally, Gloves, hats, jackets all made simplely by rotating and taking advantage of the regularity of rows and columns. They aren't flashy or necessarily colorful. The book has a mid west sensibility to it and isn't eye candy but rather practical garments that you will wear for years. I may want to knit a lime, plum and fusha verigated sweater but my hand naturaly gravitates to the cream mohair that hands by the door.

I was on the search of easy knitting and i found this book a god source for my , as i like to knit without a lot of counting and concentration in the evenings , it covers head to foot and the dessign's are very simple but creative, it lets you a lot of freedom to be creative in the making !

A great book for your bookshelf, greater to have as a beginner knitter because all patterns are in garter stitch, excellent notes on every project and great photo tutorials at the end of the book....

海外でのレビュー評価が高かったので失敗なかろうとギャンブル的に購入しました。 著者に根強いファンがいまだに多い理由がわかりました。 このギャンブル、大成功だったとおもいます。 内容は小物（靴下、手袋、ルームシューズ、マフラー、帽子）から子供もの、赤ちゃんもの、 女性ものウェアまで掲載されています。 チャートではなく文章です。英文説明になれた人なら技術的にはガーター編みなので 初心者でも作成可能だと思います。 ガーター編みだけでこれだけのものができるのは驚きました。 それぞれの構造に対する考え方がおもしろく夢中で読みました。 チャートどおりに編めば本にあるのと同じものができます的な編物に飽きた人には ぴったりではないかと思いました。（自分がそうなので。）

I simply love this book. I know some people find E.Z. patterns hard to follow from her notes etc. but, in my opinion, this is easier to work with.

Des modèles d'Elisabeth Zimmermann qui n'avaient jamais été publiés. Tout au point mousse : vestes, gilets avec ou sans manches, pulls, accessoires (chaussettes, gants, bonnets...), vêtements pour bébé, la plupart ont une construction originale qui rend ces modèles très attrayants, comme le "mitered cardigan", un de mes préférés. Certains sont photographiés dans la version originale et dans une version actuelle. Les explications sont écrites pour une ou deux laines de grosseurs différentes et pour certaines tailles, mais aussi pour adapter le modèle à la taille souhaitée. Les modèles sont exclusivement féminins mais les accessoires et quelques pulls peuvent être adaptés pour les hommes. Certains bonnets seront très difficiles à porter, d'ailleurs la créatrice dit elle-même pour l'un d'eux : "Here's a ridiculous hat..." Un livre plein d'inspiration et d'originalité. Un livre où l'on retrouve l'esprit de Madame Zimmermann au travers de (ses) ces ouvrages.
