A good hand wine opener. Nice fit and finish. Does its purposeful job well. It does take a bit of practice to wield best. My professional barkeeper son asks for this brand by name--as he tends to go through these by handing out and needs replacements. In my day I worked in fine restaurants and would have readily used this product. My one thought is, for how much longer will cork screw openers be useful (as more and more wine goes to screw tops)? Yet as a traditionalist that appreciates corked wine and the art of serving it, these openers fit the bill.

This is the 2nd one I purchased, as someone at work stole my 1st one. This one has scuffs on both sides of the handle. They sent me a used wine key. Unacceptable. Still giving 3 stars because it does work well.

This thing is BEEFY. It feels very sturdy in the hand but the 4oz (113.4g) weight is something to consider if you're going to carry it all day. Out of the box, all of the moving parts are overly stiff. That will go away with use but I wish they used screws so I could adjust the tension myself.The biggest problem this thing has is the sharp metal corners on the end. They will absolutely wear a hole in your pocket or apron in no time at all. I plan on rounding mine off with a file but if you're looking for a self-defense tool this could be a feature not a bug.All in all, this is a good wine key. Well designed and built to last.

I was looking to replace my cheap bottle opener because it was falling apart and the sharp edges dug into my hand. This is hefty and I have no concers of it longevity. However the edges are very square which digs into your hand during use. They could easily fix this by rounding over the edges. Also the lever is stiff and takes some pressure to swing in and out.
