Great temperature alarm for refrigerator/freezer and especially as crawl space/basement alarm.
I bought this after my pipes froze in my crawl space due to a varmint tearing open a covered vent. It was so unusually cold, that was all it took. Now, if the temperature drops below my setting, this alarm goes off in my kitchen. And, I can tell its temperature with one look. The 58" sensor cord was long enough that I didn't have to extend it, but with its simple plug, I could have easily added an extension. I don't trust wireless gauges since they can easily fail in one way or another, and I don't want frozen pipes again. If the sensor cord becomes unplugged, it alarms and shows "LL" on the display. If you need a refrigerator/freezer alarm that shows the length of the alarm time, the "ThermoWorks RT8100" is better, but for a simple alarm this one can't be beat. (BTW, this plain boxed model ASIN B01LXP8SKP is identical to ASIN B01BMNTVQM, which has more specs & instructions. Both are manufactured by Shenzhen Tonglixing Technology Co., Ltd (Hongkong & Guangdong, China) with the brand name/model# of M-mometer TLX / DTH-63.)

Will do the job, but the instructions could be better
I purchased two of these after we had a freezer door left open a crack and the contents were not only destroyed, but a real mess to clean up. It looks like they will do the job. The biggest issue I have with the unit are the instructions. First, they are in very fine print that are difficult to read for anyone with even slight vision problems. So make sure you have your magnifying glass available. Second, the instructions don't give step by step directions about how to set it up. I found that I had to go back and hit the Min/Max button after setting the temperature to have it switch back to displaying the probe temperature instead of the room temperature. This was not mentioned in the instructions. The unit has a magnet on the back, so it mounts easily to the metal case of a refrigerator or freezer and the probe wire is thin, so it goes under the door gasket without making it leak. It has both min and max settings so you can use it to monitor a refrigerator to make sure the compartment is not so hot as to allow food to spoil and not so cold to make things freeze that shouldn't. The temperature limits are adjusted with one button, so to get to the temperature you want may take a lot of button pushing to get to the setting you desire.

accurate and easy to set.
I purchased this thermometer to put in a small refrigerator that I keep insulin in I found it easy to set, and it has a nice loud alarm. I checked the accuracy using other thermometers, and the readings were good. The only thing that I do not like is when setting the alarm, there is no down button. You have to increase the setting up to the maximum then it resets to the lowest temp. This is just a minor annoyance since I will not be changing the alarm often. All in all for the price I think this is a good thermometer at a good price.

Save your food, By this.
This is my fourth alarm for 4 different refrigerators. This thing is a money saver in every way. Annoying alarm so you wont miss a problem if there is one. A baby can set it up, easy.
