Excellent. I asked ChatGPT what was the best blender. It doesn’t disappoint. Made mayonnaise with the stick blender only, mashed potatoes, puree. It shreds meat… Attachments are small push pull so you don’t need the extra bits. Unless you want to grind coffee or spices, I already have a grinder, this was to replace the Bosch hand stick I had before but it out performs that. Yes it is expensive but once you start using it, you will wonder why you didn’t have one before If you like a product that quietly gets on with the job it was designed for, appreciate the craftsmanship and engineering of a product and you want something that is reliable that will last, this is for you. If you want to puree for 10 seconds then get a cheaper brand. If you want a workhorse that can do the job without burning out, this is for you. In my limited humble opinion

It’s a great piece of kit but falls over if you leave it stood on its end due to weight of the cable. Don’t try cutting it off as it won’t work afterwards. Feels like it will outlive me though, very solid build.

Updated Review. I use this a lot now I’ve got over the difficulty of the little blade sometimes becoming loose. It does just need a squeeze with the pliers, and actually it hasn’t come loose for a very long time now. Although I’ve got a full size processor and a big blender, I find I use this most often because it is so quick and handy and leaves so little washing up! If I’m making a smooth soup I just blend it in the pan then rinse the bamix under the tap and it’s done. I blitz up breadcrumbs and nuts in seconds (with the Slice Easy) and often just blitz carrots instead of grating them. The grating function works fine but it’s even quicker to just blitz carrots instead. Whisking up cream etc is so quick and easy, even with plant creams. This is the one kitchen gadget I use the most and I highly recommend it, especially if you are short on space in the kitchen as it takes up so little space and does so many jobs. I do recommend getting the Slice Easy to go with it though, if you want to make breadcrumbs etc.

Obviously, this is more money than the base model but for our family who use it daily it’s worth it. Same foot print, so still fits in the original stand and bit holder (uses the same attached so don't have to buy more) Just as easy to clean and change bits. The extra power does make it faster and it's really on more demanding things. Just keeps blending on. I’ll say I don’t like the coiled cord as it makes it harder to use in my opinion. Makes lovely soups, gravy, smoothies, mayo and so much more.

My original review was 5 stars and all the superlatives about the blender. However after a year I had to return the product 3 times as the motor broke down each time. I love the blender, it is amazing in doing its job and I was expecting, it will last me a lot of years. However, the motor issues are shocking. For the price of the blender...this should be a high quality product. I am very dissapointed. However amazon customer service is absolutely fantastic, every time they helped to resolve the issue with no problem.

We inherited our Bamix from my late father in law. I’m so glad we didn’t pay good money for it. Yes it does what it should ie mixes food but that’s were it ends. When it’s time to wash up, the mixer part does not detach from the motor unit, so you end up with the whole lot including the electrics held somewhat precariously over the washing up bowl in one hand, while you attempt to get it clean with the other hand. Accidentally drop it in the water and it’s game over. When I want to beat an egg these days I glance momentarily at the Bamix sitting like some culinary god on the kitchen worktop and then reach into the cupboard above for our old £10 cheapy version which does the same job with the added bonus it comes apart properly for washing up purposes. In its defence it’s quite posh and definitively adds a little chic to our modest kitchen as it sits on the side - as long as I don’t succumb to the temptation to physically use it then my sanity remains intact and all is well.
