Lots of tips for newbies here
These are authentic. They are not Bisquick-style fluffy dumplings. They are dense and have some chew. They are a bit bland and are intended to be eaten with gravy or meat drippings. They're easy to make with a few tips. Some mixing suggestions follow. If you are new to these, definitely use the egg, as it makes them more foolproof. The quantities on the package are correct - be sure to measure properly by adding the egg to a measuring cup, then adding enough milk to total 2 cups. Beat the egg into the milk to mix well, then stir in the mix. After about 15 seconds, the mixture will become thicker and continue to thicken. For a lighter texture, as soon as the mix is stirred into the eggs/milk, beat it with a whisk or spatula for 15 seconds and it will incorporate some air that will lighten the dumplings. Now wait another 5-10 minutes to allow the mix to fully hydrate. Then, scoop these by 1/4 cup portions, and you will get about 8 or 9 per package. Use moist hands, and roll into balls.Drop them into boiling well salted water. Keep the water at a slow bubble from start to end. Cook them for the time on the box. Drain them on a clean towel. They are hot, round and slippery when they come out of the pot - be careful. If you have to hold them, roll them in some melted butter, oil or other fat so they won't dry, and cover them. They can be reheated slowly in a small amount of gravy or water, or microwaved. You can increase the flavor by adding 1/2 tsp garlic or onion powder, 1 tsp dried herbs, 2 Tbsp chopped parsley or fresh herbs, and/or 2 Tbsp butter, chicken or beef fat. Add these things with the liquid. They're a good change from potatoes or noodles with a roast. Although not traditional, these are delicious smothered in red sauce and cheese.

Love potato dumplings
I love the dumplings, but these aren’t packed well. One of the boxes was all over the “bag” that it arrived in. Normally I would send back, but they got me at a time when my local grocery stores were completely out. So I have 5 1/2 boxes.... for my Christmas meal. I don’t have time to experiment with homemade. So product is good, just wish someone read the previous reviews about packing.

Food with Love...
I have search high and low for these! First I could only find them during certain seasons, then only in specific shops, until now I had to special order them and event then I was lucky if they could be found at all. Thank you so very much for helping my family keep our tradition of making these for 5 GENERATIONS!!! There is nothing better than food made with love, and loving what we're putting on the stove makes the experience that much better. Tak sa Myket! (Swedish for Thank You!)

I am German! I know "Klöße" Go to Kroger instead!
Go to Kroger instead! Half of the powder was already out of one of the boxes. Kroger sells it cheaper anyways. Right in the section where the mashed potatoes are. Sometimes Walmart has it too. I love potato dumplings (Klöße). This is a traditional German food and I am German and I cook everything on the stove rather than in the microwave. This is just taking advantage of people who don't know where to get it!

Proof that there is a God and He loves us!
Memories of my youth! My immigrant grandmother made these with pot roast and gravy. My mother used to make these for us too. Easy to make and a great replacement for potatoes or mashed potatoes for dinner.

My husband was born and raised in Germany and he said these taste exactly like the dumplings he grew up on. He loves them. Thanks for a great product.
